5 lugs 2wd in Canada DO NOT have the TSB leaf pack. I have already fought this battle with Toyota, gave up and got Timbrens.

No, the TSB was updated to state only 4x4 and PreRunner models.

I have the sticker, but it says it was reduced by "0" lbs. The "0" is drawn in with a pen though. Kind of weird.

I emailed my dealer. He said he did not know about the sticker. He looked at the trucks on the lot and found only the ones with a tow package had the sticker.

He said he hopes to have an answer from toyota monday.

I thought I remember reading in another thread awhile back that only the trucks with the tow package had the sticker. The thinking was that the tow package adds 290 lbs to the weight of the truck, thus lowering the payload capacity by 290 lbs. FWIW, I have the sticker, and the tow package.

If that is true, then there should be some 2008 models with tow package and sticker... Anybody got one?

See my post on the "2009 tsb" thread. I'm guessing possibly a lawsuit ensued at some point due to owners not realizing that the tow option added so much weight (and thus reduced payload capacity), and they therefore routinely overloaded the truck. As a result, the "sticker" was born.

Someone should create a poll to see if this is correct. See if those with '09s that have the tow package also have the sticker, and conversely those without the package don't have the sticker.

FWIW, I had the tow package added at the dealer right before I bought it.

No sticker on mine... but it's a reg. cab 4-banger. I don't think the TSB applied to those anyway.

Just because you have a truck does not mean you need to haul a ton of gravel to "use it as a truck."

I am retired and my weenie springs '09 Taco suits me fine with it's nice ride and can accommodate the things I need to haul on occasion. It may not suit everyone's needs. If someone really needs more hauling capacity than the Taco maybe they need to look at the Tundra.

That is exactly the issue. The US market remains convinced that they need full-sized vehicles.
I am far from innocent. When we got a bigger boat, we reflexively got a full-sized truck to tow it. Took us two years to come to our senses. The Tacoma does just fine (now that the springs have been corrected). The rest of the world has a much saner view of how much vehicle one really needs IMO.

I read that the TSB does not exclude 5 lugs specifically. The TSB does say Access cab Double cab, no mention of it being 4x4 only - there was some discussion of this being a mistake by Toyota . I remember reading that a 5 lug access cab did in fact get the TSB done.
