So tomorrow, i have my first performance review at my new company. Only reason i'm nervous is because it's a business/corporation, and you never know what kinda shit people pull. Also because i have been called out on so many other projects by other managers, that don't relate to my "assigned job", so if i get a negative review, what do i say?

"Sorry, but you should go ask _____ why they needed me"...

Also the fact i spend alot of time on TW probably won't help :)

any more, ..i just approach these w/ a laid-back cavalier attitude, ..i keep some rough notes of the major things i've done over the past peformance period, ..so i just go over that the day before.. my advice, just relax and show your resolve..

I've found that people like confidence and a good attitude. Even if they are in the wrong place...

It's not like your boss doesn't know you've been called away to work on other projects. If he says anything negative about it you'll just have to say "no" more often when you are asked to help.

But really? Performance reviews shouldn't be something to get in a twist over. If your company is halfway decent and wants you to do a good job you should already know what they're going to say because it should have been communicated already. This is just the formal process of letting you know what's what and making sure everyone is on the same page. If you were doing THAT poorly you wouldn't have worked there this long. Don't sweat it. :)
