I am not sure its gonna happen. Nystrom's elbow is down and he hit him with his shoulder while Letang was reaching for the puck. Shame to see Letang hurt, he is important on that team

Aren't any type of head shots banned? Elbow or shoulder? I agree Letang put himself in a vulnerable spot, but Nystrom easily could have played the puck in that situation. If Letang and Crosby are out for the playoffs, Pens won't make it to the 2nd rnd

 

I don't think he was "head hunting" with that hit, its just a shitty mistimed hit

 

I dont think Nystrom is a dirty player at all or was targeting his head, just bad luck. The NHL is going to get really lame when all the good players are dead. This whole concussion thing is getting annoying.

They can't suspend or not based on whether the player is injured

They suspend hits that are illegal

I agree, sort of, about the concussion part. It is annoying but I am not saying they are not an issue. However, I am not sure when it happened but somewhere along the line players have given up the responsibility of keeping their head up. It is something you learn at a very young age and it seems to have disappeared.

I think the main difference between now and 10-15 yrs ago is that the players are way bigger, faster and pads are much better than they were. Im a fan of the hits and fights, but when you have had an entire all star roster out at one point with concussions changes need to be made.

 

No one makes them go to the danger zones, they know the risky play/areas and they go there.

You cross the train track one day your gonna get popped. Thats how I grew up underetanding thegame, that why I love it. A dman was Raised to put their shoulder into the chin of a bender with their head down. They should not have their head down!!

 

back in the day the didnt have all the tech to diagnose this shit...
and players didnt bitch as much
