So when I first got this truck, like 2 years ago, the first thing I got was my double din which is this pioneer avh-p4100dvd...

and I bought this with it for my iPod...

    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130IU200V/Pioneer-CD-IU200V.html?search=pioneer+avh-p4100dvd

My iPod broke a few weeks ago, so I looked into just the AUX. Being that I didn't hookup the AUX when I first got it, I decided to do that now. So I bought a AUX cord and went to the back of the head unit. Now the iPod cable has a USB and AUX integrated into it. I plan to get my iPod fixed.

My question is, I can't have an AUX cable to lets say my phone and a iPod cable to my iPod at the same time? Because the iPod cable uses the AUX? Is there two AUX inputs, I could only find one?

Thanks a ton guys, as I'm not very car audio savvy.

Yes and no. If I remember this correctly, the AUX line on the IU200V basically enables the video feed. If all you are looking for is audio from your phone and ipod you could hook one straight to USB, with no AUX line on the IU200V connected, and the other to a dedicated AUX cable.

Now, I THINK this is correct, but not entirely sure. And yes only one AUX and one USB.

Well thats what I'm running now. I unplugged the AUX from the IU200V and plugged my AUX cable in the back of the head unit. So all thats plugged in the the head unit from the IU200V is the USB and iPod doesn't work. I don't understand, why didn't they just put two AUXs in the back of the head unit?

Ahh, never mind, I didn't read that into your post. As for why not 2 aux, probably cost and the amount of real estate on the unit vs. those that actually want more than one. Along the same lines as why a usb hub will not allow multiple usb devices to function on the HU, but this is more of a software support vs. need.

I see. So is there a solution to my problem? What if I were to put like a 1 to 2 AUX splitter, and unplug my iPod when I want to play music through my phone? If that makes sense. This really sucks that I can only have one or another, kind pissed at Pioneer actually

Should I just ditch this IU200V cord and just run a USB and AUX cord? If I plugged my iPod into the USB, would it play in the iPod mode of the head unit?

Sorry, but you're now beyond what I know and it would be nothing but conjecture if I spoke. My only advice is to try what you've said and see if it works.

If understand this correctly your asking if a regular apple iPod cable plugged into the USB port of the head unit will play your iPod? if so, then yes you will not have video function from the iPod though. Other than that nothing changes from the pioneer cable to the apple one.

Thats fine, I don't use the video part of my iPod anyway. Cool, I'm going to take apart that and use my USB-iPod and AUX-AUX! Thanks guys.
