Just picked up a 2012 MGM TRD Off Road 4x4, 4.0L with carpeted mats, daytime running lights, and tow package for 30,000 (including all fees) but not including taxes. That was here in Northern Va.

Got a couple more quotes from two more dealers, 35900 from one, 35456 from the other, talked to original dealer i visited and got the one i wanted $35400 out the door, everything included. Black doublecab, 6 speed, cloth interior, TRD Sport. Best i could find around here but i didn't look overly hard, and the used deals for 2009 same setup was not a great deal for me ($27000-$28000 for 50000kms, dents, cracked windshields, original tires). Thanks to all for their information and help.

Heard back from another dealer in the area $35456 out the door as well-their first quote.

This is my first post here as I purchased my first truck, first tacoma, and first new vehicle all on Friday.

I got a 2012 DCLB 4wd V6 with sport upgrade package, JBL navigation, and tow package for $32,831. OTD it was $36,048. I think I got a pretty decent price for the Bay Area.

For the record, I haven't been able to stop smiling and looking out the window at it since I got it.

i got my '12 double cab, trd sport with tow package, prepaid maintenance (up to 65,000 miles i believe), toyota's version of the lojack vehicle tracker security system for a little over 30,000 before taxes. they also gave me a 3.9 interest rate for being military and a $1000 college grad rebate so overall not too bad.

2012 TRD Off road, Double, no-entune $30,300 + the money for our government (~2500). California based purchase (by a non-democrat or lefty).

Also, would have done better if it wasn't a special order that I had to get from a dealer in Oregon.

I paid $38,000 + tax for a full load 2012 TRD dbl cab 4x4 with heated leather but managed to get a smokin' deal on my trade (an '08 f150 XTR supercrew - $20,000 Ford offered me only $14,000 for a trade on same vehicle).

PLUS I saved over $2,000 in tax because you only pay tax on the difference between the cost of new truck and value of the trade in.

In the end I'm very happy with the deal and extremely happy with the Tacoma overall.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
Kinda glad I came across this thread. I was wondering how my deal compares.

I bought my 2011 DCLB 4x4 (PQ++ package) a month ago, brand new from the dealer. Wrote the check for $28,900 (though I had to pay CA tax once I drove it home from Seattle).

How does that stand up to what's considered a deal?

Btw- the manufacture date is 10.2011. So it sat on the dealer lot for a year.

("PQ++" means fully loaded, top options package TRD Sport. Y'know, the package that includes the Bluetooth phone option on the steering wheel, DRL, tow package -- the WORKS.)

I found people asking way too high for used as well. Seemed like they look at dealer prices and expect the same. I always understood the dealer asked a couple thousand more to negotiate and make you feel like you got a good deal on used because they take them on trade-in for less than what you think they are worth. The ones i looked at were same as dealer, and people would barely come down $500 to $1000, so i went new as well.

Good for them if they can get what they are asking, i guess i will do the same and get good resale-if i ever decide to sell. An example, dealer wanted $31000 for a used 2009 with 64000km and for 2012 0km same truck $36000?

I will be buying new. Is either a 2012 or 2013. Just don't want to wait forever for the new engine. Not sure if it matters.

I found the same was true. One dealer I went to tried to get me to buy a used 2010 DCSB for $31k. I went to a different dealer and got a brand new 2012 DCLB for $1800 more.

    None yet; soon.
I got a 2012, Double Cab, TRD Sport, Long Bed, V6, Tow Package, All Weather Mats, (No Nav/Entune) for $31,295 before tax/license in the Northwest. The OTD cost was $32,623 with tax/license. I think its a pretty good deal so I jumped on it.
