Depends on what we are doing, for easy trails. 20ish would be fine, harder stuff a little lower.

3 inch body lift, bigger tires, going mild on this one.
The main thing we need to do right now is nail down what day to do the trail ride, and then we can plan around that. I have set up a poll to get everyones input its located at: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/so...hant-butte-lake-nm-10-11-march-2012-poll.html

I will also set one up for camping options once we have some input on the above poll. If we do the trail on Sat we could camp between the trail and the VLA (this would be primitive camping at its best) or return to the lake and camp. If we do the trail on Sunday we could camp at the lake or in the National Forest (Im looking into some good areas to camp) Depends on what everyone else would like to do.

Ooh! Camping in the forest sounds fun! Hit the Monticello then camp and continue next day?
I'm just excited so I'm up for whatever.

I'm definitely down to camp in the forest. I don't know if these two trails are near each other but maybe we would waste less gas? Or would we need extra fuel if we camp in the forest and continue on the next day?

judging by matt and colins maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=N...sp=0&sz=10&via=1,2&t=h&z=10&source=gplus-ogsb the canyon trail meets the 52 trail to the VLA just past the box and real close to the forest. each of the 2 legs seem to be about 40 miles or 2.5 hours of low speed/low rpm dirt road. theres gas in magdalena about 21 miles east of the VLA on the way back to I-25. socorro is another 26 miles at I-25.

Got a camping options poll up, if you want to dig for distance use the coords and vote, otherwise you can wait to vote and I will get up info later.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/so...te-lake-nm-10-11-march-2012-camping-poll.html

Poverty creek is suposed to be nice, but its about 35 miles out of the way round trip. The other two mid trips are on the way to the VLA, and the pre Monticello area (the one with lean to's) is about 30 miles round trip north of the trail head.

Here is the problem with camping somewhere else. I have other people going that arent on the forums or Facebook and the origional plan was the lake area. So a few are bringing camping trailers and stuff so it would be hard to wheel with those as well as having other people meet up with us for Sunday, for those that can only make one day.

I love the idea but I think we might need to save it for next time if that's ok.

So here is the short version I was thinking.

We all meet up at wally world then go find a camping spot that people like, my friend is going to leave his rented trailer so we keep our spot. Then we can hit some local trails and have some fun and come back and BBQ and bonfire at the lake and chill out then Sunday morning we head out to the vla trail and stuff. People can leave their camping gear at my dads or friends if needed that way too. I have invited a few people to come that are not on the forums so they don't know the plan changes and some are even staying in a hotel so it would be hard to change stuff now.

Here are some pix of the seat covers I have for sale. I priced them up, and for the front and rear set they retail for $525. I just want them gone, so they are down to $200ish I did have them at $250. I can bring them to the meet too. might even do a little less if your coming to the meet.

Here are some crappy cell phone pix. you can see there is one tear on the rear seat. They need to be cleaned, but that should be no biggie, hell I can do it before I give them to you even.

EDIT-- the tear is not all the way thru, just the top layer. and I have all the head rest covers and everything.

That other mark is just a wrinkle not a tear.

overstand. next time, better pre-planning by a few rather than ass tons of last min ideas by the many, like that old guy with the stock red 2wd and no idea how this stuff works. another thing we could do is to post all info in 1 location with nessesary links to it and open it to public viewing. that faceplant place comes to mind. you can keep it invite only if ya wish but let folks at least see the info and plan around it.

    my $2. inflation ya know
