Canada has combat troops in Afghanistan. So does Australia, Poland, Italy (maybe not combat troops, but troops), and may others.

Its interesting because my teacher brings Iran up in almost every class. It seems the she as well as the class have come to the consensus that it is somewhat doubtful that Israel will attack in the near future. The reason being that; they lack the technology to seriously destroy the nuclear production facilities, rather that the most they can hope to do is slow it down. Also the logistical problem of fuel is a real problem. The fighters have to go to Iran and then back and the fact is when they land it will be on fumes. The reason why this is concerning is that although the Israeli pilots are much better then there Iranian counterparts, Iran will have both ground and air anti-aircraft assets that do not have to worry about gas. Thus if the Israeli pilots engage Iranian aircraft they run the risk that they will not make it back home without a refill-I don't think I have to tell you no one in the neighborhood would allow Israeli aircraft land within there nation.

our aircraft do have external fuel tanks that hold a shit ton of fuel so I dont think that is a problem. Also we have bases in UEA and that is pretty much within throwing distance from Iran.

You are right about the external tanks, but even still Israel to Iran and back with 500lb bomb, it can but done but just.
    Did u mean the UAE?
As far as the base in the UAE, it may be american sponsored , but it is not in the United States. Because of that who can and cannot come in belongs to the host nation. The UAE would never let an Israeli fighter land within its borders. The only nation that hates Iran more than Israel is Saudi Arabia, but the political repercussions of letting Israeli aircraft refuel to bomb another Muslim nation is almost unimaginable.

Weren't the Israeli F-16's that bombed Iraq's nuke plant stripped down and WAY over weight with external fuel tanks just to get to Iraq and back , landing on fumes ?

Travelling to Iran would be further , no ?

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
You know Israel also has aircraft refuelers right? They also have the receptacles to take gas from any American tanker jet. I know we might not be in the "fight" part of it, but I am sure that the US gov't would not let pilots fall out of the sky because of gas. I know for a fact how much gas we have in the air at all times since I work on the tankers. It would not be a problem to get them the gas they needed to get home. Also, Israel has refuelers of their own they can use.

There had been talk once of Saudi Arbia turning a blind eye and letting Israeli jets use Saudi air space. Saudi Arabia doesn't want Iran to have nukes any more than Israel. Enemy of my enemy is my friend...

Oh how easy it is to forget about us "Tanker" guys. Same thing with Lybia....you can bet your ass we'll be there supporting this BS. We are allies with Israel, so between them and us, they wont have a problem getting to Iran and back. Haslefre and I have both been all too close to that place and know it can and will be done.

    my 2 cents...
Iran has been building towards a bomb for a long long time. Why is this coming to a head now? Yes they are definitely working toward a bomb but we've known that for a while.
Someone mentioned we need to worry about Muslim's world domination. That is not truth, it is salemanship. They can't wipe us off the map any easier than we were able to say "Mission Accomplished". We would never just lay down and let it happen. The Chinese are not going to let that happen to them. The thought is ridiculous without even bringing the cost of trying to do that into consideration.
The truth is that the American people are starting to push back...
unfortunately this war is going to happen because military Venture Capitalist companies need it to happen and be inevitable before the next election. Their budget has been cut and will have to be cut more if we are to get rid of our debt.

    Side note:
Anyone here ever played the game "Risk". You spread out too far without resources. You lose. Period. Recovery takes longer than the game lasts. The goals we are currently going after are not being chosen by military minds. There is no long term "win" possible, only delay. So who keeps picking the targets?
Whose best interest is all of these wars? America? Nope
Whose best interest lies in our debt growing? America? Nope
again, just my 2 cents but..
    look up indentured servants.
It is not a Muslim rule that we have to worry about for our kids.

A superb book to read is "war is a racket" by Marine General Smedley Butler.

During his 34-year career as a Marine, he participated in military actions in the Philippines, China, in Central America and the Caribbean during the Banana Wars, and France in World War I. By the end of his career, he had received 16 medals, five for heroism. He is one of 19 men to twice receive the Medal of Honor, one of three to be awarded both the Marine Corps Brevet Medal and the Medal of Honor, and the only man to be awarded the Brevet Medal and two Medals of Honor, all for separate actions.
In his 1935 book War is a Racket, he described the workings of the military-industrial complex and, after retiring from service, became a popular speaker at meetings organized by veterans, pacifists and church groups in the 1930s.
In 1934, he became involved in a controversy known as the Business Plot when he told a congressional committee that a group of wealthy industrialists were planning a military coup to overthrow Franklin D. Roosevelt. The purported plot would have had Butler leading a mass of armed veterans in a march on Washington. The individuals identified denied the existence of a plot, and the media ridiculed the allegations. The final report of the committee stated that there was evidence that such a plot existed, but no charges were ever filed. The opinion of most historians is that while planning for a coup was not very advanced, wild schemes were discussed.
Butler continued his speaking engagements in an extended tour, but in June 1940 checked himself into a naval hospital, dying a few weeks later from what was believed to be cancer. He was buried at Oaklands Cemetery in West Chester, Pennsylvania; his home has been maintained as a memorial and contains memorabilia collected during his various careers.

Yes, and with the U.S selling the block 60 which has conformal tanks it gives them longer legs. Granted with (3) bags (external tanks) this hinters Air to Air maneuverability.

    Isreali Block 60.

    same shit as everyone else
Very true. CIA has fucked shit up over there for 60 years now and we haven't gained anything other then dead soldiers, expensive oil, a disastrous "hostage" situation and a president that will forever be shamed by our mistakes. (carter)

I highly doubt its the first drone they have found that is ours. Either way they don't have the network or ever will have a network capable of any kind of "drone" tech.

Yes not to mention they need at least some kind of on station time to have an effective fighting force. You don't just fly there fire missiles and go home.

Yes and our current and previous defense secretary has openly stated to the UN that they "Will not provide fuel for an unapproved Israeli attack"
The Israel refuelers? Do you mean an F-16 with external tanks that can feed another F-16? Not enough fuel to support a long enough on station time in Iran with a flight back home needed.

Wiki leaks bullshit had a lot of interesting stuff about the Saudi's wanting us to take out certain Iranian sites for them. Many people think this is why we gave them $4 billion worth of missiles in 2009.

    Congrats, you'll have a blast!

You're right, they probably don't have the technology. China and Russia do...
