The extras I got were the glass breaking sensor, the sound wave sensor, and another siren placed INSIDE the truck to blow out the eardrums of any thieves.

In all honesty, the alarm is awesome, but I can't figure out which sensor is too sensitive - I think sound waves may be bumping off concrete walls I park next to and tricking one of the alarms.

Best Buy charged me DOUBLE the price of the alarm to install it, so you're smart to do it yourself if you can.

If I don't get those extras what do you think I'll pay for it if I buy and install it at best buy?

Add the auto window rollup feature, voice module and you'll have a kick ass setup, even have it hooked to my electric tailgate latch,

Sorry...Don't remember what I paid but the windpw roll up is neat. When I set the alarm all the windows go up ,lock the doors, lock the tailgate and even speaks "System is Armed".

Well I really think this is something that I want. Ill just call around and get some quotes. I was just thinking buying it online would be cheaper than buying it at Best Buy, but then i thought that I would get free or basic installation as part of my purchase there. So it might be cheaper to just buy everything at Best Buy to begin with.

Well ima tell u the 5901 is about 499 to 530 plus tax which includes basic install u will need a bypass module more than likely it really depends if u have a chip in it key. Look at ur key near the base if it has a dot or G on it than u need a bypass. Best buy is gonna use flcan more than likely maybe a dball either one is 100 and they charge 29.99 for install of bypass module. Window mod u should buy else where it would b cheaper and mind u will need 2 modules if u use dei brand. Those should cost about 59.99 for installation each. Glass break sensor is about 18 from best buy will have to b ordered. Install is about 29.99 as well. And as far as the siren it will probably b 59.99 for install. And the tailgate if u don't already have it motorized ure looking at least 80 for actuator and labor. And if u do they would have to look at ur install to determine labor. As far as doing the install yourself its easy for some and hard for others. This isn't like wiring up a radio if u do have the chip in ur key I are goin to be dealin with data wires. It took me about 4 hrs to do the install but I didn't do the extra siren nor the windows. I've also been installing for 12 yrs and been doing full blown alarms for 6 yrs. I also do not t tap wires I will either military splice, solder, or both.

Thanks for the info man. What are the things I should look for once the install has been done. I don't want to find out something is wrong after I have left

What do u mean? Lol and r u goin to have best buy do the install of so they do not t tap they slice and solder all data wires and slice ign wires some of them solder everything but if u have best buy do the install they hve a lifetime warranty of work for as long as u own the car and viper will give u lifetime warranty on the brain if it is installed by an authorize dealer like best buy.

yea but i live in a place where best buy is not located. So i would get home from Vegas and something would go wrong. I just want to know all the things to check before I leave.

Well I ended up going with the Viper 5704 which is just the updated version of the 5901. I only ended up paying 500.00 after install by a local guy. He even came and did it in my driveway. Took him right under 4 hours.
