You sure are fixing that thing up nice for selling.

I was looking at what I need to do to fit 255s last night. Was wondering what kind of rubbing you have run into after doing the stuff from the expeditions portal site (pinch weld mod, change out the fender bolts, and center the axle). Like you I have dakars in the rear, did you use a relocation plate and move the axle back 3/8"? Seems like that will put the axle 1/8" to 1/4" rear of centered in the wheel well but looks like that's the smallest adjustment you can make.

Not necessarily. 3 of 4 of mine were seized and only 1 tab was bent.

I have the relocation plate, but I found out that the Dakars center the axle pretty well.

I have SS screws and recessed washers left over from my install if you need some. I think I bought 50 or 100 of each from McMaster Carr.

    You order them yet?

Yeah, it seems like if I used the plate it would just move the potential rubbing from the front to the rear of the wheel well. I know I currently rub on the lowest bolt head in the front when fully stuffed with 265/75r16 and just changing out the bolt isn't going to make the difference between a small 32" and big 33" tire though. That's why I'm thinking I need the plate to move it back and then just hack away at the rear to make it fit.

I'll definitely take some screws and washers off your hands, how much they run you?

I have no idea how much they cost. I will have to look for the invoice when I get home.

I rubbed front with 265s, but we bounced the truck after some trimming in the shop and the 285s seemed to clear the front. Haven't stuffed a wheel while moving yet to fully test it.

Thinking about it, wanted to get stuff done around the house but it's looking like a shitty day outside tomorrow so maybe. Although I don't really like the idea of driving 3 hours up and back in one day just to steal your tir.... uhh, I mean to help you with your clutch.

Tie a stick to his flat bill with a Dunkaroo on the end and watch him chase it in circles.

True, the skinnier tire might help too. It is just the outer edge of the tread barely rubbing on the bolt head now.
