Removing badges from Tacoma to paint

So I was looking on here to find a write up on this and couldn't anyone know the easiest way to do this? If there isn't a write up I'll do one up. I'm sure some one here knows how haha

 

Fishing line and use it to cut the badges off, then bug and tar remover for the rest of the goopy crap that is left behind.

Um ok.. This takes about 15 min to get the badges off the entire truck. But good luck, hope you like paint over spray all over your truck.

 

Fresh coat of wax afterwards as well. That adhesive remover may take off wax around the area when used

 

Getting them off isn't an issue it's getting them back on. I won't be getting paint on the truck. I'll tape it off I have painters sheets to do that with and the proper tape. I'm not an idiot. I paint a lot just re did my house painted it myself. I've painted quads and boats. If I have an oversized garage with ventilation for painting. Only an Idiot would attempt this with out at least having a clue of what they were doing.

I wasnt sure how the. Badges came off on my old car they had clips and figured of that was the case it would be easier to remove them.

However I appreciate the video and post helped me make my decision on how to approach it.

Putting them back on is pretty simple too.. If your going to paint on the truck at least use plastidip so you can get the over spary off.

I really think its a bad idea to paint them on the truck. Your going to spend more time taping them off then you will taking them off and putting them back on. Lots of small area's to tape off, like the inside of the O on the little Toyota one. Not to mention risking over spray on your truck if you miss something .. I did my mom's logo's on her truck, total labor time was under 1hr easy to take them off and put them back on. That's not including time to paint of course.

Again, good luck, but I think your taking the harder road on this one.

 

That video show how to put them back on? I would probably have to get a new adhesive for it wouldn't I? I don't wanna tape it that would take a while so if this is the easier route I'll take it

 

Well update decided to take them off so far they are cleaned sanded and primed just about to throw the paint on I'll post up some pics when I am done
