Morning Gent's...on the news they were discussing the Macellus Shale are and said they were told by geologists that there is more natural gas and crude oiul in the Marcellus than the middle east...only problem is labor is more expensive so what will the cost be???? Ken

Morning, all!! And X3 for me Susan!! Rough week!!

Ken - The gas industry folks are at the beginning phase of the Marcellus Shale gas extraction. What they have done to this point has already brought prices down. Despite increased labor costs, there is a lot of profit in the industry - and estimates are that each well will produce for 30 - 50 years. Gas only. I think they are still exploring the presence of oil and the amount to see if it makes sense to try to extract it.

Morning All,, Mike down here its called the rent subsidy prog. , Its goes with ade to fam.'s. The fam has to pay about 30% the rest is picked up by the city with Fed. $. The city takes the $ out for the % of the rent from the $ going to the Fam. & and add the rest and send to whole rent check to the homeowner. The city backed up with state $ that come from the Fed.. is on the hook for anything that gets tore up. There are a lot of hoop's to jump threw to get in the prog. but when you are in and going its a good deal for the homeowner. Rent check on time , all damage covered, and large tax cut on that home from the city. Still have to pay some income tax on the rent $ but trying to find a way out of that. Jim

Good morning to you all. Yes, it was a busy week. After 50 degree weather yesterday, it's back down to the 30's, cloudy & windy. Will spend the day catching up on a few loose ends of home repair. Enjoy your weekend everybody![IMG]

morning all: I can just feel those strings being tightened.
MORE LIKE A NOOSE AROUND OUR NECKS!!!
funny, with the mild winter we're having in the NE, that home heating oil keeps going up in price. guess, since they're not selling as many gallons, they have to make up the loss. there should be a huge inventory of HHO on hand, since I believe it's refined in the summer and stored at the refineries.
they will probablly sell off the excess to another country, at a reduced price, to keep the cost up here.

    Good morning folks!

 I can't break my night shift sleep pattern; slept 5 hrs and was wide awake at 4AM. 2 hours 'til motel opens bfast room, and probably 4-5 hrs before Kristi will be ready to get going...so it's the coffee pot and TW for a little while!

Jim -- nice pic; I haven't completely given up on that setting in this lifetime...house will have to be a little smaller ;)...but if we leave Alaska hopefully it'll be for something in that kind of setting! :) If not that, then some kind of motorhome stored down here that we can "snowbird" in from about November through March--we'll just have to see what the future holds for us.

Carl--is that all aluminum on the front deck reinforcement?

Funny ...some sleep expert talking about adjusted circadium rhythm(sp?) on Foxnews :anonymous:...also  when did FoxNews change the format? Two leggy blondes on bar stools:laugh: not complaining just made me chuckle...the format I'm familiar with just came on; guess I just never caught the show with the other two gals before.

Sad stuff with the tornadoes in Indiana and surrounding area...prayers for those folks affected.

Back to cold and snow in Alaska tomorrow night... Gonna be hard leaving the grandkids. Kristi and I are discussing what kind of schedule to put these visits on; the kids just moved down here last November.

Well, sorry for the ramble...God Bless you and yours, and God Bless America! :oldglory:
