    Just get regular 4" or 5" pots and run Sylvania dimmable 2700K LED PAR 20 / PAR 30 bulbs , we just installed over 100 pot lights in the house I'm building using these bulbs

    8 and 15 watts vs 50

    LED fixtures are expensive, but they use considerably less power and according to the manufacturers last 50,000 hours. I ordered LED task lights for a reno I'm doing today, $400 for 2 fixtures (one 3 lamp and one 5 lamp).

    I just did some track lighting and used Lighting Science 4000K spot beam and flood beam bulbs. Came out really nice. In the kitchen I plan on using 3000K bulbs for a warmer light. I already plan on using Phillips Kinetics for cove and under cabinet lights.

    correct, LED lamps with a standard medium base are widely available now. I believe an 8w LED lamp is in the $30 range.

    The problem I found with the track lighting was finding bulbs by the same manafactuer with the same kelvin rating in a spot and a flood pattern. There are 3 or 4 manafactures that say they make them but they are very hard to find. I eventually found the bulbs but from two different suppliers.

    I also found that the price is all over the place. The same bulb can cost from $24 to $58 depending on where you purchase it. It pays to shop around.

    Well off for a family night of fun. I may check in later.

    The 2700K are way nicer colour light than the 3000K

    I think the best line I ever heard from a contractor was when he received my drawings (that I drew up from his napkin sketches) and he called to tell me that his clients would be so excited to see what their house was going to look like...
