Nice video Jake! I'll be referencing it when Adobe verifies my student status so I can register my CS5......8 months after I got!

First shot with my new 24-105! :woot:

I wish it wasn't dark by the time I got it, but oh well. I've got plenty of daylight hours ahead of me. :D

Thanks for sharing your edit technique Jake. I like the look you achieved for this shoot and your general workflow.

I just wanted to add something about watermarking. Some say it detracts from the picture (that's kinda the whole idea-duh!) or they don't care. Most watermarks can be removed using content aware fill or the healing brush-yours can be removed in like 10s. A corner to corner X with logo or a series of translucent logos would better serve to watermark an image because they're more difficult to remove. I would watermark something that had significance or commercial value. A good example is the image of the last shuttle launch taken from an airliner.

I like to think of a watermark as a brand mark. If you combine it with a low resolution image, clients can't really do anything with it except view it on a small screen and it helps you establish and maintain brand awareness. In a funny way, think of a low res images with a brand mark as free advertising.

I guess the point I really want to make is people who are gonna steal will. And most of the time, they could care less about a watermark so why not take advantage of that by pimping yourself? Hopefully, it generates a little business later on.

Raced in a local rally cross today in the corolla. I got a few pics of a sweet pikes peak rally car that was there. Pretty sure everyone made a mess in their pants when he started it up:eek:

I'm planning on buying a D800 when the funds allow me to and I know I'm going to need alot of space with those file sizes

and what I like about the Drobo unit is the expandable size and the fact it can go up to 15TB

I've built a few. The one I liked most was Open Solaris based. Easy to add drives to. Easy to replace drives.

check out carbonite.com. It is a computer backup solution with unlimited storage for $50 a year. This gets it out of your house in case you have a fire or some other disaster.

This one is legit, i'm not sure about others. I just like to cover my ass in case the worst happens. Something about doing Disaster Recovery planning for companies makes me plan for the worst
