Made a cool little mod today, melted battery mod which in turn makes fire/smoke in engine bay!!!

Battery tilted and fell over while driving, which then fried my amp wire. Was wondering WTF my truck died and doing wierd electrical shit. Me and buddy seen smoke, jumped out, seen the battery hanging, clipped wires, placed battery back in place in a course of 45-60 seconds, didn't miss a red light at 5 O'clock traffic. Drove to starbucks, seen that the hold down hinge came loose, tied it down and drove away (with milkshake, F frappacinos)

My battery is now melted a bit where the amp wire caught fire, but will be a constant reminder to me to always check it while I am doing maintenance.

Will check in the morning to do a full check on all systems, but drove it for 2 hours after everything and seems to be ok. Go Go lil tacoma that could!

you can still see the brake lights very well with my tint. the only thing is they do look very black so i hope i dont get pulled for them. the law says you need to see the brake light from 1000 feet but cops can be assholes in richmond

I think that he is saying that it bothers him as much as insurance fraud.

All bad. Third brake light blockage/tinting doesn't bother me. Making the main tail lights less visible is kinda annoying though.

    Too many to list.

Agreed, I've come close to rear-ending a few people with their lights darkened... Makes them really tough to see in bright sunlight...

    Look at build!
Looks good to me and just like my truck, i can see mine fine from a long ways away...the only thing id say is it looks alot better with the reverse light un tinted...and as for the toolbox i used rustoleum bedliner on mine and havent had any issues and it looks a ton better than the chrome imo

I love mine! was yours a direct replacement for the truck or did you have to modify the fusebox for the white wire to reach?

I'm not talking about the third brake light. I was talking about the dark tinting of the primary brake lights. Thought you might be able to figure that one on your own there...

And I was not saying it WAS insurance fraud, I compared it to it.

my dad said i should sand the bumper first. but i wasnt at his house and i didnt feel like waiting two weeks till i was going there so i just used rust-oleum simi gloss i figured if it started coming off then i would sand blast it and bed line it. but its been hoolding up fine. If you have the tools and time to sand it and bedline it i would do that.
