I got into an accident yesterday in a parking lot. The guy didn't yield from his parking lane and just went on to the main section and t-boned me. Since it was on private property, the cops didn't come. I managed to skid/fishtail safely and avoid hitting the other parked cars. I called my insurance and called his to make sure he made a claim, but no reps came to see the damage of my car yet, just the lawyer. Anyway, can anyone assess the estimated cost of repair? My driver's side rear door, body, side step, bed of the truck are the obvious damages, but im wondering if the side step caused any damage to the frame. Also, since i skid and fish tailed, I think ill need a re-alignment. Im just curious to see what this damage will cost his insurance, aside from the medical bills, etc. i attached a pic of the damage to my truck. Thanks in advance.

The steps mount to the bottom of the cab not the frame, but a rough estimate
an easy 3-4k in labor/paint and parts.

That's just a couple of door skins.

He's got a door skin, cab, and bed damage.

    He's looking at a minimum 5k.

    Yes.
Around $3,000+. Depends on who makes the estimate and if genuine Toyota parts are used.

    Old school.

There was once a time when bumping into a parking lot stop or tapping a curb required an alignment.

Check out my build (link below). It cost me $3500 to fix the dent in my bed side however that was the best/most expensive body shop in town. I would be estimating around 5k. Make sure you take it to a reputable shop. good luck. glad your ok.

I'm thinking $5K+. I got t-boned last year in my 2010... worse than yours and it was $8700. I promptly traded the truck in. It just didn't feel "right" afterward.

Not unless something bends, especially on a solid non steering axle.

$5700 including everything. they may offer to total it if frame damage can't be ruled out through obvious means or measurement.

Hard to say until you're there and actually take a look at it taken apart. Definately need repair on the door shell, new skin. Repair on the cab, rocker. Box will have to come off, door will have to come off. Paint the can inner pillar. Depending on what your insurance is like a side step like we replace if its scuffed amd that is textured paint. other than undercoating we replace the sidestep. And of it is still replace it if it is damaged. You should not have any frame damage, and unless you're wheels got hit into a curb you shouldn't need an alignment either. A big thing would be to check of the box started to crack anywhere from the way you got hit. If so there's a strong possibility of replacing it. Really hard to say, like I said can't tell until its taken apart. If he's at fault though there should be no reason not to make a claim. The repair bill is going to be a fair amount. Good luck with the repair process, make sure you pick a good shop.

    Chris

EDIT: just looked again, depending how bad it is, might have to section in part of a cab corner. Repair or replace on the flare. And if the scrapes continue onto your rim repair or replace on that. If you're rear wheel got hit at all even just on The tire you should have a four wheel alignment done. The more I look at it the worse that rocker looks too. There should be some pulling on there and same as the can corner depending how bad that ticker is it might have to be sectioned in as well.

Just to cover my ass. The guy that hit me is from cali and probably wont ever see him again. I had my coworker in the passenger seat also. Now our backs are kinda tweaked too.
