Wheels/Tires size

Hello Im new to this forum. I just picked up a blue 06 tacoma regular cab. I dont really like the rims on it because they make the car look to basic and a little small. Was wondering what rims and tires I should get used or new. Looking to spend around $300 max. If I get a bigger size will it ruin my steering or braking power?

I'd start by surfing wheel mfg websites, tirerack.com, discounttire.com, etc. to get at least some idea of what you have in mind.

 

Ummm $300 per rim or $300 per rim/tire or $300 for the wheels & tires?

If it's the latter 2 choices, you might find yourself very limited. Might be best to find someone selling stock TRD take-offs.

 

Yes thats what I was thinking of doing just taking some take off TRD wheels. Just wondering if they would rub or reduce the stopping power, etc?

 

They would have zero effect on your brakes.

 

I put a set of 33" BFG KM2s on 1st Gen TRDs (bought set for $100) for when I off road.
They have less back space so they give the truck a wider stance.
