Hi all, obviously I'm new here but I'm far from new to internet forums. I recently sold my '86 Pickup (2WD auto unfortunately) but I just pickws up a brand new '09 Tacoma (Access Cab, V6, 4WD, 6-speed) yesterday. This will be my utility vehiclee so it's likely I will not be putting a lot of mileage on it.

My project car is a '02 Mazda Protege5 (hence the user name). Too much to list but I figured it'd be worth mentioning.

I look forward to poking around and learning as much as I can. Anyway, here are some pictures:

Welcome fellow Buckeye noob!! Man, I should have waited a year to get mine. I have an '08 A.C. and I like the looks of your back seats a lot more than mine.

So where is the fine town of Mason?

    Thanks!
Bah, don't call me a Buckeye >.< I'm a Virginia Tech alumni (go Hokies!) so I'm definitely out of my comfort zone here in Big 12 land. Anyhow, Mason is about 20 miles northeast of downtown Cinci off of I-71. It's really close enough to be considered a suburb of Cinci. I just moved out here and started work with GE last June.

LOL, thanks. I'm a design engineer for small commercial jet engine turbine components. Whenever you fly in a smaller regional jet like a Canadair, Bombardier or Embraer chances are I am respsonsible for at least two or three of the parts in the engine. It's kind of funny flying now, epecially when you know all the issues associated with a particular type of engine.

Haha, thanks! I usually suck at finding good locations for pictures. The pictures were taken behind an old Voice of America (VOA) broadcasting station here in SW Ohio. There's actually a recycling station behind it where I dump all my recycleables so that's how I know of the location. For the pictures I parked under what I think are the broadcasting antennae for the station. A bunch of high voltage signs and I'm running around with a digital camera, LOL!

My parents are from Cincinnati, and I lived there for awhile. We (my brothers and I) just brought my Dad up there for a little "trip to remember" this past year. We had a great time.

Yeah, I'm still relatively new to the area and I usually stay further up north so I really know nothing about the city itself.

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone. The truck is stock for the time being (except for a K&N drop-in airfilter). I've got a list of things I'd like to do but that all depends on the fiance'. In her opinion I've ruined my Protege5 so it's unlikely she'll be willing to support some mods to the truck. The first thing I want to do is ditch the SR5 steel wheels for some alloys off the TRD Off-Road or TRD FJ Cruiser and upgrade to some 265/75R16 tires. After that, probably just intake and exhaust and perhaps a quick/short shifter.

Which Toyota dealership did you purchase the truck from?

    LOL, thanks! So where's Harrison?

BTW, my Tacoma is already taking away from my Protege. Today I just switched the Tacoma to my primary vehicle and the Protege to my "pleasure" vehicle and saved all of $7 per six months. All that means is I'm not supposed to drive my Protege more than 7500 miles a year. Even if I split my time evenly between both I doubt either would see that mileage right now...

This just gives me more reason to tear the Protege apart some more :D
