Mushy brake pedal. Hate is a bit strong, but, a noticeable flaw.

    no cruise control
    no keyless entry
    no TRD packages
beeping noise when stability control kicks in
the holes in the front bumper where fog lights should be
the squeak/chirp from the heat/ac blower

last but not least, the lovely body work some lady in a Camry did to my passenger side that is now being repaired.

The list of what I like about it is MUCH longer than this minor stuff!

Typical of many Toyotas I've owned and driven:
The relationship between the steering wheel and the dash/pedals.

On my 2nd Gen Taco they at least give me enough clearance to get in without smacking my shin on the dash (I was always hitting my leg on my '94 and even the Tundra bit me a couple of times).... but the real problem is when I adjust the seat to a comfortable position for my legs, then my arms are too stretched to be comfortable on the wheel and dash/console reach is too far.

If the wheel/dash are a comfortable reach, then my legs are a touch crowded.

I'm 6'3", and Toyotas are one of the few vehicles that I don't have to run the seat all the way back to have a good dash reach, but the dash is simply too close to the firewall.

A little over $200 and an hour of your time and these issues are fixed ;)

I totally agree. Just bought my tacoma and I went over a speed bump and heard that mud flap hit. I think they are a little too long..

    LOL!

    I love it.

But seriously... what's he referring to? I checked my '08 RC 5 lug base today and you can easily activate the turn signal without latching it.

Perhaps he's referring to the reminder tone that I've never seen on a Toyota? My '07 Exploder company car would sound an alarm if the turn signal was left on for more than a mile or two. Wish Toyota would do that.

I had an '08 Silverado that had a drivers side mirror that was pwr folding, turn signal in it,heated mirror and auto dimmed......met a box truck on my lovely narrow roads and he hit and tore it up. The mirror alone was $450

not having a 3L (or larger) turbo diesel option.
too much electronic BS infringing on my fun and wallet.

what I do like: manual trans, manual trans, manual trans, and it'll still be on the road in 10+ years.

So after nearly a week with my new taco....my only real complaint is why must it 4 and D be so close together? Sometimes I rest my hand on the console and on the shifter..I can be in D and sometimes it slides to 4..I wish they had D and 4th gear seperated better..too easy to go between them.

Never had a car that did that.

Wouldn't matter anyways because in SoCal, 3 blinks will just tell the guy in the next lane to move up and close the gap.

There are two ways to make a lane change in Los Angeles....
1 - Use the turn signal and spend the next 2 miles trying to get into an opening.
2 - Quick shoulder check and go for it... then wave at the guy who "let" you in so he doesn't rage on you.

I'm glad I live in Canada for that reason. Only complaint I got is the transmission shutter they all seem to have fluid swap helped a lot

want to buy a 2013 tacoma double cad 4x4 when i retire.. in 15 months... I just retire now i want the Tacoma BUT i want 8 way adjustable seats?
how can you make a truck that stops with the necessary confront items that would have been standard in any American trucks?

    I don t want a tundra

Heated "heated, leather, electrically adjusted seats"

Anyone have an idea where i can find a shop or pro in the northern calif Bay area to install ""heated, leather, electrically adjusted seats". I know the tundra has it all, But that not what i want.. I intend to buy a 2013 fully loaded Tacoma 4x4, short bed 4 door truck in 2013 , 15 months before i retire so i am ready to buy the best 4x4 fully loaded Tacoma.. BUT i want these seats, so any suggestions would be great.
the dealers only know how to sell the truck after that they are not much help with this subject matter of heated leather seats. We had a great shop that went out of business in Redwood city called "California Concepts", and now i have no where to ask these question.

No heated mirrors, my 1999 Pathfinder even had them.

    There's a mod for that ;)

Seriously... 4-runner parts bolt in, needs some wiring work.
Power, marker lights, heated, and folding.

Personally I'd be happy with just power... but I bought a 2.7 RC base so I'm not expecting any magic. I'm just happy I can upgrade things like the wiper delay and cruise with OEM parts and not have a stupid Audiovox box on my dash!

Yeah, I've read the mod. I'm not tearing apart my stuff for the ten times a year I could use them. I have the turn signal markers, power and folding, just don't get why they don't include something as simple as heated.
