Played a little in the snow/slush/rain.....

After 8+" of snow we are now getting freezing rain quickly turning over to plain rain for the next 10-12 hours.....

I have to be nice to the Tacoma....it is the only vehicle for the next 2-3 weeks...Camry sold and arranging the time to go "South" is frustrating....

    Too many to list.

Now that's a big canoe, mine is really wide, it's the Coleman Scanoe with a transom on the back for up to a 4hp motor. I use a 40 lb. thrust trolling motor though... I think mine is rated to hold just over 900 lbs....

I see that you had to cut your frame rails to get your bumper on. How many inches did you have to cut off of them? I ask cause I've got one in the works from Tim and was wondering how it turned out for you. I think it's like 4" or so. Did you have to do a lot of trial and error to get it to fit right? Any install advise you got? Did I ask enough questions?

Not a problem, I had the same questions.

It was a straight shot after I took a few measurements.

The pic below should help. I took just over 3" off the front and the center of the bolt hole is 2.5 from the mounting point on the bumper. I probably took about 1/4 inch too much off but I'll have that filled when the new frame ends are welded on.

I'll also send you some instructions that I have from another member.

How do you think the 882s would ride on my stock double cab? I want to go with those instead of 881s because I see a plate bumper in my future, but that won't be for a year or two after I lift...So would running the 882s without any extra weight be bad? Or would it just be a stiffer ride?

Might be a little high and stiff, but I am sure you can live with it. I had the 881s for two years and loved them. I swapped them out when I got 285/75/16s and the heavier bumper on the front. It is not a huge deal to swap out the longer springs when you get your bumper. $160 in parts and a quick install.

Hmmm, well that's good to know. Maybe I'll just settle for the 881s to enjoy the ride for a while. Besides, I would be taking the front end apart anyway to install the bumper so I might as well just do the springs at the same time.
