I cheated...I don't think I could make it with stock tires and no lift.

Here is how you wheel a 2wd truck:

    1)Back up 25-50 feet
    2)Find the gas pedal
3)Make the gas pedal meet the floor boards
4)Pray that there aren't boulders, cliffs, trees, and various other hazards in the way of making it over your intended target
5)Get out and inspect for major damage
    6)Repeat

Tolar today was pretty good. I hit a few new trails, spotted for some Jeeps coming up other trails, explored down by the river, and was the DD for my extremely drunk buddy. Overall the day was pretty good; the clutch held up well and the shocks worked great. I didn't bottom out once all day. I am going to do some more tuning to the motor though: I had an issue of loosing power going up some of the longer hills.

Which is why I'm glad I have one.

I've been wondering something lately. I do know that the weight, or lack thereof over the rear wheels on trucks can cause a lack of traction. Would the added weight of my camper shell help me get more traction, and ultimately help me when I am off-road?

That camper shell doesn't do much in regards with putting weight in the back..

Yes; adding weight in the bed (and securing it like crazy) or a good camper shell will help overall in the traction department. The problem is anything that goes off road is subject to trail abuse. I have toyed with the idea of adding a weighted pipe to the tail of my 4Runner to give me a little more weight to the back of my rig. It will be low and up tight so as to not effect my center of gravity too much.

Which brands constitute as a good camper shell or one that would add enough weight to help out? Why would mine not do much?

How much does that camper shell weigh? I may take back my statement..
