Yeah, delivering in Corsicana in the morning. I was planning on delivering tonight but then I would be driving around looking for parking in the middle of the night. 4,000 miles in 6 days kinda wearse me out a little.

I'm not sure. I am technically the 4th owner of the truck. The first guy bought the shell because he used it to transport spines for hospitals and didn't want folks stealing them. My cousin, who happens to be a mechanic played around with it, fixed up the lights on the inside. He had it off for a little while but put it back on and wired the lights to the battery as he had no plans of taking it off for a while. Then my uncle bought it and never removed the shell because of that and didn't know exactly how it was wired. Next time I get the chance I will ask my cousin if he remembers, otherwise I will find a weekend and play around with it.

Damn, 4,000 miles? I thought 1,500 miles was bad enough in two days with my sister and I switching off every 300 or so miles.. Especially considering the stress of driving such a big vehicle with so many dumb asses on the roadways.

I'm betting Zech is correct with it helping a lot more than I think. I've never off-roaded before so I wouldn't know. Just the weight distribution of the camper shell with it weighing around 150(guess) pounds doesn't seem like too much to me. I would personally throw some more weight against the back of the tailgate.

If I get a chance tomorrow I will take a couple of pictures showing how I have my bed loaded and with what. I have some weight and basic stuff for my truck in there against the tailgate put in a couple of milk crates and a small old coleman cooler since I don't have storage space for my stuff as I don't like my back seat cluttered and no tool box due to the shell. Though, I doubt that what I have in there is enough weight.

I have considered getting a basket for the roof rack, I could find a way to put weight up there. Or just end up moving the spare tire up there, wouldn't add weight but would make it easier to get to.

All of this talk about off-roading makes me want to go again. I can't exactly remember the last time I have :pout: Stupid construction and no trespassing signs have ruined all of my spots. May have to go exploring soon.

Hi Zech. We found a house we really like but I can't make an offer on it until I get my official transfer letter, which will be early this week. Hopefully it is still on the market.

We went to 15 houses and only found one that we liked the setup of that also had a yard for the dogs. So if it gets sold in the next few days we will have to head back over here in another few weeks to look again.
