    k. thanks, I was getting a little paranoid since no body seemed to be mentioning this brand. I probably will switch over to meguiar's gold class anyway though just to be safe.

Actually it was gliding over the surface pretty easy. It only got kind of stuck on the bottom tube where it's harder to reach. The spots were all over the top tube, but they went away when I waxed it. Maybe I should try a different lubricant?

Just went on a shopping spree and got some clean supplies for my new taco which i should be driving off in tomorrow morning :D Quick little question..Is a tupperware container something that I can store clay in after using it? Noticed it just comes in a plastic bag..which i doubt would be good to store it in between uses. What yall do? :D (or ziplock bag perhaps?)

Ziplock or tupperware would be just fine. A few of my claybars came in containers so I just use those. You mainly want to keep the clay from getting debris on it and drying out.

I'm interested in a custom paint job for my taco, but would like to see how it would look first. Are there websites or programs (preferably free) that allow you to upload a picture of your vehicle and apply different colors to it?

    Thanks!

You can ask in the photoshop thread and I'm sure they would be happy to do it for you. I don't know of any online programs that allow you to do so though.

For you guys with the cloth seats what are you using to clean them? I am using meguires quickout for both the carpet and seats right now. Anything work a little stronger and better?

You might want to try Folex. Available at Home Depot. Try it on an out of sight piece of fabric first.

Anyone know what the best product/solution/method of cleaning the underside of the truck? I recently did front and rear suspension work inclusing brake lines so theres greasy/oily marks from that plus the regular 'gray' layer of old dirt etc...

I remember I went to get it detailed once and it looked like they spent the extra time putting Armor All (or other shiny cleaner) in my wheel wells so it was shiny wet black look. Not necesarilly saying I want this again (don't think its meant for paint etc) but want clean well..

    Thx

A good all purpose cleaner with a brush will get just about anything clean. If you just want the wheel wells clean then it's not too bad, but if you want the whole underside of the truck clean it can be tedious. A lot of time spent under the truck scrubbing and rinsing. If you have a power washer, this will help out a good bit also.

Thanks. I read that Simple Green is good for the engine bay, I'm thinking it'd prolly be good for underside too then.....

Amazing Roll Off also works well.

I also like to use my hands to clean in the engine bay. I put on thin latex gloves with microfiber gloves on top of the latex. This allows you access to clean everything.

My wife's car smells really bad. Water will leak through the driver's side door jam when the car is parked during a hard rain storm. Hopefully changing out the door seal this weekend will fix that problem.

Now what should I do to clean the carpet & seats? The plan is to remove the seats, and carpet...and get to scrubbing. I have read about a woolite/water mixture...but I'm skeptical. Would Meguiars APC+ do the trick?

Meguiars APC or any APC for that matter will clean the carpet and seats, but you need to make sure you remove all of it or else the carpets and seats will feel sticky and become dirty even easier. Use very little soap and then do multiple passes with damp rags in order to remove all of the soap. Folex is also another good carpet cleaner that you can get at Home Depot. Finally make sure everything is completely dry before you put it back in or else you could cause mold growth.

Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but it seems close so ill take a shot in the dark!
I went out to my truck yesterday morning to install some lights on my backrack only to notice that the old girl had been a victim to a hit and run, theirs a good dent on the corner of my cab and some nasty scratches running down my rocker and my door...

Im a university student, so neither the time or money are available at the moment to get it fixed.. just wondering if there are any relatively cheap and easy ways to stop it from rusting in the bare areas?

    Cheers,

    Mike
