Dick Cepek DC-2s

Ok, so I've finally decide which wheel I am going to put on my silver DCSB. Dick Cepek DC-2s (picture below).

Now I think I want to go with 18x9 and wrap them in 275/65R18 Goodyear Duratracs. I have eibach coils up front adding 1.6"s of lift and the TSB rear plus an additional 1.5" add-a-leaf. Other them a little trimming does anyone see an issue this set up?

Now the confusing part....the 18x9s are available on two configurations.

18x9
28lbs.
bolt pattern: 6-5.5
BS: 4.5"
Offset: -13mm

or

18x9
29lbs.
bolt pattern: 6-135
BS: 5"
Offset: +0mm

So my questions is, which one do I go with? Will one cause more rubbing(requiring more trimming) then the other b/c of the BS and offset????

If all else fails I'm going to with the same set up in 17x9 with 265/75R17 Durtracs.....which come in 6-5.5 and 6-135 both with 4.5" BS and -12mm Offset.

Guidance please.....

 

You could do either for the 275's. The -13 offset will stick out 1/2" more.

 

The 6-135 won't fit our trucks, its for Fords.
Our trucks take a 6-5.5 or 6-139.7.

 

So it looks like if I go with the 18x9s I'll have to go with the

Now I can only get the Duratracs 275/65R18s in an E load rating. If I get the 17x9s and the 265/70R17s I have the choice of either C or E load ratings. Is there and advantage to one or the other?

Also on Goodyears web site the 265/70R17s say a max rim width of 8" The DC-2s are only available in 17x9 (as most aftermarket wheels I've found) will these tires be ok on a 9" wide rim? Will it spread the tire too much?

 

word of advice DO NOT go with an 18" rim if you off road at all!!!! and stretching those duratracs to a 9" rim is doable but not advised, youd need to go larger so like a 285 to get the width 275 x 65 is only around 180mm sidewall the 265 x 70 is around 185mm

the reason the load change is going to be all due to your sidewall theyll have the same base ply which refers to the portion thats bellow your tread, but your sidewalls will be roughly the same but less surface area therefore less volume is air as well which will help the weight rating

i know im not a 100% up to snuff but its a rough idea

Bump. I think I'm leaning towards the 18s as the will fit the 9" wide rim with no issues. And I can't fit a 285 on my set up...

 

I may be wrong but I thought the bs and width determines how far the wheel sticks out not the offset. My understanding is offset determines the "dish" of the wheel ... a deep dish having a large negative offset and stock being a positive offset ... correct me if im wrong ... im still trying to understand this

 

Correct. So of the two, the one with the negative offset will stick out more.
