I have been trying to decide on a magnaflow muffler for my 3.4 Tacoma. I know that the cat-back for this truck comes with the 5x8x14" muffler. But should I get 14, 18, or 24 inch muffler? I need help please!! Thanks!:)

depends on how loud/quiet you want it. the shorter the muffler...the louder its gonna be.

What would you recommend on the 3.4L engine? I have only heard clips of the 4.0's:)

i would go with the 18 inch muffler.................not super loud in the cab, but a good sound/tone to it. and maybe a little added performance too.

OK thanks! I will probably order one tonight online.:D Does it make a sound difference if I get an aluminum or stainless steel muffler? Also I think I will have 2 1/5" piping installed because that's what the cat-back offers. Do you think this will turn out good?? Thanks!

only thing about stainless steel...it wont rust. i'd go stainless if you live in an area prone to rusting.........and 2.5 inch piping will work nicely. be sure to post a sound clip when you get it installed.:D

I dont know what it will be like on the 3.4 but on my 4.0, I have it cut off under the cab, It isnt too loud. I like the sound, but at the same time it doesnt sound like a truck should, IMO. But just be ready for your gas mileage to go down, I was stomping on it everywhere just to hear it. Good luck.
