Actually no. You could cut off his arms and legs, remove his tongue and eyes, tie him to a horse, slap its ass, and let it gallop off into the sunset. Technically, you're not killing him.

There's something that bothered me about that last seen with the walker. Usually they don't stop feeding until the food is gone. It just seems that that walker kind of ambushed Dale. Hell, the cow was still alive. Do you think the writers might be fore shadowing possible intelligence evolving in the walkers?

possibly...could have really done that if the walker picked up the gun that dumbass kid dropped and went on a shooting spree...lol. imagine a walker coming at you w/ a browning hi power (at least that's what it looked like).

i for one would have loved to see Shane grab the gun and whisper to Dale "I TOLD YOU SO" and then killed him. It would have been so mean but bad ass none the less.Shane is a kick ass character and he knows what he is doing but just has to go about things a bit differently.

I also think Dale shold have been on his guard better and had no reason to be walking around that far off the farm at night.Good Riddance.

One would expect that one could have seen the walker in an open field. Unless the sucker was crawling around in the high grass, but that seems unlikely. Perhaps we are to suspend our disbelief in some of these situations for the good of the story. This might be the case in the instance of the cow not being dead before the walker left it.

I thought they were at the edge of the field and it was pretty dark.

Looked moonlit to me and seemed that they were a little ways from the tree line. Still, the walker came from Dale's back, which was towards the farm.

I think that we are looking a little too deep in to this.

    I suppose so.

I wonder if the walkers are driven, not only, by base hunger instinct, but perhaps by some basic memory. Other zombie stories have indicated that they zombies return to places which they know, out of instinct. This could explain the zombies at the school ,the suit wearing zombie in the field (perhaps returning home). Maybe we will see Otis return to the farm in less-than-ideal condition.

I'm thinking Otis was devoured out right. There were quite the number of walkers surrounding him.

Unless they stop eating once the victim dies. It has been noticed before that this might be the case.

Not really. When they had the big press release for the start of season two. They spoke about looking for a change in the way the walkers hunted. Moving in packs was just the beginning. Maybe showing intelligence is the next step.

However this would go against the info they got at the CDC which stated they only had enough cognitave function to get up and get moving.

One of the things that they leave out explaining that you would think would be the question on all their minds. How long can these things keep on moving? If they are dead shouldn't they be starting to rot? How long can a corpse last in the summer heat before it just starts to fall apart.
