So I am pulling up in the driveway with my 2 1/2 year old twin daughters while it is raining and try to open the garage...nothing happens. I look up and the porch light is out, so I figured the power was out. No problem, I'll just run inside and open the garage door. As I am about to get out, BLAM! Hail the size of golf balls starts coming down. I know I can't get out now...so I sit in my truck with my daughters in my lap and listen to the destruction. At least now I know what a hockey goalie feels like in practice. And here are the pics for your enjoyment and my pain:

I had to quit taking pictures. This is a 2012...the roof on my house is going to have to be replaced along with the gutters and screens on the windows. I guess my mods will have to wait for a bit now.:(

Already called them and have an appointment for Monday afternoon for an estimate. It even dented my roll-n-lock. We'll see how it goes, just sucks...

Most insurance policies cover it. If they're coming to check it out, they'll cover ya. Clearly it's hail damage and not a fraudulent claim (you'd be amazed how many jokers make fraudulent claims about hail...).

Your insurer will likely get PDR (paintless dent repair) work done to it, which is the best solution, especially on a 2012. Hoods can be a pain though, and are usually replaced.

I got mine beat up Friday too. Mine isn't as bad as yours. I've got several on the hood. It started out as pea size and then went up quarter size. It lasted like 10 minutes. I thought it was going to beat the windows out of my house.

Sorry to hear that. I hope they can pop them out of your truck and your roof is OK. Adjuster is coming out this week to look at my roof. It's screwed! Here is a picture of the hail...

Daaaamn that sucks. Hope they fix it for you.

We had some crazy storms roll through friday. My work was right in the path of one of the tornadoes but it missed us. My truck and home was spared but others weren't so lucky just a few miles from me. Serious tornado damage destroying entire neighborhoods just right across the river from me.

Only got two small chips. I washed the truck yesterday and the top reminds me of a golf ball. Mite get better mileage? Ah well...it's only metal. I was 12 years old when I learned how to drive(jeep CJ) at hunting camp, and somehow I managed to hit a tree. My father told me "Son, it's only metal." He was right and that has stuck with me. My girls didn't freak out and nobody got hurt and that is what matters.

Yikes! I remember driving with my buddy who had a mint 1992 Dodge ram 250 Cummins, Thing was Beautiful! he would drive it and as soon as it started to rain we would make a dash to get under a bridge or a parking structure haha. Good luck getting those Dents pulled man, Im sure a good PDR guy will make it look like new again, BTW that color is my FAVORITE! Looks soooo beautiful.

Results are in: $4811 IF they can fix the hood. Top has to be replaced.

I would seriously take the truck down to the dealer and try to trade for a new one using your insurance check. You may be surprised. When we had the nasty hail storm in Knoxville last April that is what I did with my vehicle that was outside (not the Tacoma). I got a insurance check for 7k, dealer gave me 5k less than they would have and I got a new car. Sure they could have fixed it, but once the headliner and interior comes out so they can replace the roof will it ever be the same?
