Dito! I work at a winery and all of our equipment is made in Italy so everything is metric. Way easier to use but still find myself grabbing the standard tape since I was raised with fractions. I know some people can just do the math in there head which is nice and convenient but some of us are not so lucky and grab for the calculator.:D

I have a 12ton Torin press and I'm trying to convert it to bend sheet metal for skid plates. I have done a little research and found that Swag Offroad makes a kit.

    http://swagoffroad.com/20_Ton_Press_Brake.html

Anyone know if this kit will work with the Torin press and is there anything else I would need?

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
What kind of skids are you planning on making? that only has a 19" opening I have one and you cant build one piece IFS skids with it. and 12 tons is going to be hard pressed to bend 3/16th any wider then 7" to 10"

Thanks for the info. Just tossing around the idea, but seems like having someone else make me skids is the way to go.

Do you know a chick named Jessica? She has a white danger ranger. just saw you were in havasu
Kinda hard to tell in the picture since its kinda dark. Are you doing "C" or Circles?

Here is how I set my machine up. I usually set my machine up with slightly lower setting then what is recommended for the thickness of material. I have found all factory setting to be too high for me. I'm not in a race when welding I like to take my time and go at my own pace. Try doing circles. How I do it depending on moving left to right or right to left. But if I'm moving right to left I like to do clockwise circles. My circles are not like true circles more like ovals. I go from the top plate to the bottom plate moving to the left some creating about an 1/8" pocket then swoop back into it that pocket filling it in with weld. I have found that gives me almost perfect dimes.

Looks like a fair amount of splatter. Are you using flux core wire or shielding gas?
