Thy go after someone like Turco because he's not under a current NHL contract and the trade deadline already passed. So they're handcuffed.

 

Ah ha! Looks like Thomas is gonna see a lot of action. So if another team actually claims Turco then what? Julien straps on the pads?

Teams that are under the 50 contract limit can make a claim. I wish there was a running list (instead of counting them one by one on capgeek).

Possible waiver claims for Turco and the number of contracts each team has: BUF 49, OTT 51, TBL 50, NJ 48, TOR 52, CBJ 48 these numbers don't take into consideration the slide risk players either.

I can see a team on the playoff bubble making a move for him because in picking him up that team will get their #1 goalie rested for the playoffs. Or Snow will pull a Nobakov again

 

I dont think anybody will try to make a waiver claim because Turco will not be avalable for the playoffs.

 

they are basically picking him up to sit on the bench for the next month and shoot pucks at in practice...

the JETS looked great again last night, but now they have a tough back to back in western canada, they need at least 2 points in the next 2 games to stay in the hunt IMO. although Florida and Washington have a game of 2 in hand, they just dont look as strong as the jets do right now. IF Bogosian can get healthy (their PK is gunna melt down without another able bodied PK guy, Hainsey and Stuart are shouldering most of the minutes there) and IF i say IF they can win the horrid southeast conf. and finish with the 3 seed, the MTS will be a hard place to play in for whoever has to come in there, and they may get through the 1st round, or at least win a game or 2. If they finish 8th, well i dont like their chances in NYC.

no i have yet to see either one. You? I am curious to see them but cant say i've made any plans to.

Without a doubt they need to keep winning. it is hard to imagine the several teams currently competing with them for 8th or the conference 3rd position will slump simultaneously. If they work as hard as last night they should be ok, the effort was unbelievable.

 

Jonathan Quick is human. So is Rinne. Worried.
