Hey guys, I know a bunch of you are gun nuts as well and some of you are just nuts.
I want to know if anyone is interested in doing a local group buy for bulk ammo. I am looking at cheap target/reloads in 9mm & 40s&w as well as some good 308 match and maybe bulk US 7.62 mm.

Does anyone know of any local shops that would be interested in doing this.

Post up here as I am looking at making my purchase very soon.

Check with luckygunner.com. They are into stuff like this to help get their name out there. I have bought several hundred 357 sig reloads from them and they were the cheapest I have found. I also have not had one failure of any kind with my glock 32 with their product.

I have looked at luckygunner.com and e-mailed them. My concern is they are not local to AZ so the shipping will be huge for us.

This is a shop I am looking at right now and have also e-mailed for prices:
    http://www.freedommunitions.com/default.asp

Like I said, I am generally looking for something in AZ (or possibly Las Vegas) as we can pick it up locally and divide it at a meet or something.

Looking for mainly cheap target/reloads for myself. Then possibly some Hornady and others for good stuff. Like I said, looking for AZ local if possible.

Ammoman.com has great prices, and the price includes shipping. They are hard to beat.

I often place pallet load orders of Wolf or one of their other brands (Wolf owns several different Russian ammo companies) when I start my test firings of the pistols we manufacture (if it fires this stuff it will fire anything). It's all steel casing ammo and slightly dirty (Typical Wolf).

I know they carry the standard 9, 40, 45, 223, 308. If you guys are interested in this stuff, maybe we can add your orders to my next order. I'll call Monday to get current pricing if there are enough folks interested. Yes, you will have to buy by the case.

Are they in the metal ammo cans by any chance? I've ran Tula through my 1911 I'm guessing it will shoot wolf too

No offense, I will never run wolf through any of my guns. I have had so many problems with it in the past with casing seperations/failures, failure to extract, failures to fire, squib fires, etc. That stuff is pure garbage... You are right, if your pistols will fire that stuff it will fire anything.

I ran Wolf in my SKS for hunting hogs, but the more precise stuff, and my pistols I would never run it. BTW anyone got a 1911 for sale?

No offense taken, agreed that wolf isn't the best, however ever since they have gotten away from the lacquered finish and gone with the poly finish, we've had very few issues with it. I go through about 200K rounds a year and less than about 5% has any issues. The issues are usually related to hard primers and bullet seat depth. We've never had any issues with case separation or rims falling off.

I will say that I have had some M4/AR15s with gas pistons like the HK416 that is tempermental with Wolf.

I haven't shot wolf in years, had to many issues and so did most of my friends. Burned to bad to every shoot them again (unless of course my life depended on it).

I would be interested in buying bulk for .38, .357, .308 or 45.

I think if enough people are buying a large enough amount, even with shipping charges, we could all get a good price. Buying locally in AZ means local pick up with sales tax.

So which is cheaper? Sales tax or Shipping?

This has been my experience as well, the old stuff was complete crap, the newer stuff runs fine in my M4. Of course, it is dirty.

He said "give me a rough estimate on what you want and I will get you a price"

Someone get a list going. I need to see what ammo I have already before I commit to anything.
