Got about six inches from last night at lake level. Still snowing lightly. But looking across the lake to south shore it looks heavier.

I wish I coulda. Had to install an FAU and water heater thrus. Then Friday some dude came up to his house flooding. Heater failed, pipes freeze, break, flood house. 5 of them thru the house. People never remember to shut there water off when there away or just never think there house will flood. Tisk tisk

I went to a couple of their 3/11 shows like 9-10 years ago. They still rock

 

And open all the water valves so the water runs out of the pipes, by way of the lowest one in the house or basement.

EDIT - and I think you squirt a little antifreeze into the toilet bowl and drain traps, so that the bit of water that's always present in the traps doesn't freeze.

 

Been about that for me too. If is my buddies first time. Lol

 

Yeah if you plan on keeping the heat on then just turn the water main off. If you plan on keeping the heat off then yes flush all toilets antifreeze all traps open all shower and tub valves. Don't worry about the water heater that much water won't freeze. And turn off the breaker if your water heater is electric BUT BEFORE YOU TURN THE WATER OFF. sometimes the water main is a stop and drain which is, when you shut your water off it drains out a little whole in the side of the same valve and the water heater can sometimes syphen out that little whole. And if the power is on and the water heater drains the elements will blow. If it's gas just turn off the gas valve.

 

Anyone going up for friday? I'd be down, as long as its one of the ones I get in for free.
