Installing 4wd on a factory 2wd?

    Agreed...trade it in. If it was a 1st gen I'd say go for it because you could grab up some junk yard parts or a whole parts truck and do it cheaply, but it's just not worth the $$ on a 2nd gen

    Def not worth it. My dad had a 2x4 Silverado that that we upgraded to 4 x 4 and it was a huge headache. He lucked into a junked 4x4 and took all the necessary parts. All it took was a nice 2 foot snow storm to destroy the transfer case and effectively disable the truck. we ended up getting rid of the 4 wheel and converting back to 2x4 in order to trade it in on a new 4x4 Silverado.
