Hood Scoop issue

I hear putting a huge 3 tier wing on the tailgate will make the truck more stable......

 

been stationed in germany for 2 years and been all over the country and the autobahn. the turns are exactly just like the ones in the states... no more than 1/8 of a wheel turn, give or take. the road imperfections are the same, if not a little worse. there's patches, pot hole, humps, ditches all over the place. you're mostly correct about the water run off though. a little bit less of it than highways in the states.

I am sure you mean kph, which is only 74.57 mph. I assume this is only on roads with a 75 mph limit.

Seriously OP, don't drive fast on the streets, 95 in a Tacoma is clearly not real bright. Have you tested out the ABS system by the way?

One of my scariest memories was stopping just short of a crosswalk full of kids driving my mustang home from school (20+ years ago). It still sobers me when I think about it today, I would have taken out at least half a dozen people. Not something you want to have to live with for the rest of your life knowing how you affected so many peoples lives in such a bad way.

 

They make a carbon fiber insert that looks awesome on the scoop. It's very expensive.

As for making this a ram air intake, it won't happen.. Look at a cold air intake that sits in front of your radiator.. Just be careful of water.

 

The OP wants to trade his skewped hood for a non-skewped hood for sweet lap times at the circle track.

 

No one really explained the whole negative air pressure thing.

Where the scoop is positioned, the air that hits the grill, flows over it and hits the windshield. Thus the area in which the scoop is positioned is a negative air pressure area. Air is sucked from it. not rammed into it.

I didn't read the part about the closed course, but seriously dude, I was all about pushing limits when I was younger, but now that I'm older, I understand the post about that guys dad. You don't understand, or care, that you could mess up someones life in a blink of an eye.
