I suppose ignorance really is bliss! And on that note, I only feel sorry for this kid because he really does not have a clue!

thicker isn't better.... in this situation :p

granted this is my opinion and experience, but there are many ppl that will gladly back me up on this... it's no better than any other highway. it does have plenty of imperfections. the only reason it may sound better is bc there are a few places where there are no speed limits and there are many areas of it that are used for actual racing. but that doesn't exactly make it better.

First: don't do 95 it's not legal mostly everywhere also very dangerous..

Second: drill the rivets that hold the plastic plug into the colored part of the scoop (Comes out with 5 10mm nuts) replace the metal screen into the insert. You can fasten it with some zip ties of a like color, you'll never see them if you drill some tiny holes, and turn them so the buckle part of the zip tie is in. Mine works fine, no shaking, no whistling..

OP...Does the "sport" sticker add more top end horse power, because I'm pretty sure my "Off Road" sticker added more low end power...

If you are so worried about the hood shaking when going 95 mph, simply use hood pins. They sell them cheap at autozone, most likely where the rest of your "mods" will come from.

The hood wont look good with pins because of where they would need to be placed. And i haven't bought any thing for my truck there:confused:

My truck also came from the dealer with those rims and i didnt feel like having to buy new ones

Honestly, all I can say is . I know I'm 17 too and all, but I also know that what I drive, is not ment to go fast. I think the fastest I have gone in the taco is like 75 to pass someone on the highway. You drive a truck, not a race car. I mean, don't get me wrong, I would love to go fast and I see some of my friends go WAY too fast on the highway, but I just cant justify going fast in a truck. Just remember you drive a truck.

Its just a private track for him and some friends to go on. He just calls it the track:eek: he has it on about 15 acres out side of town.

meh...not so sure OP needs to get blasted for being young and lets say un-wise. We were all young once and when I was his age the least of my worries was reading he small print on some forum....well mainly because there was now web back then :D

I'm sure he knows by now not to post threads where he says he is openly breaking the law and learned his lesson.

I would keep the flaming down so we don't scare him away. Just imagine the land mine threads he has to offer in the future.

I need a good chuckle from time to time so rock on OP.

Maybe an F-150 Raptor is more of the type of vehicle you are looking for?

Even if it would function as a scoop, it would actually contribute to overheating by increasing pressure behind the radiator.

1st and 2nd gen Duramax owners were doing all kinds of tricks to seal the front of the engine compartment and ventilate the rear to increase the pressure differential across the CAC and radiator.
