    Well seasoned.

I still have a wall of CDs (1,000+) and vinyl in my tiny ass living room. Time, maybe, to get with the 90s I suppose. I just can't give them up : (

I have a newish iPhone, but have yet to download one song to it...still kicking my vintage Technics turntable and my Numark rack mount single tray CD player.

Nooo....I think it was because I kept saying to them: "Well why would they have hooks for a net but not provide one? That's crazy to have hooks in there. I feel like I should have a reason for those hooks. I've seen OTHER Tacomas with the net but how come they stopped providing one for MY year? And if they decided not to do it, WHY ARE THERE HOOKS FOR THEM?? Are you sure that it wasn't supposed to come with it? Because it would seem stupid to have hooks there when..." "ALRIGHT ALRIGHT!! ALPHONSO! TAKE HER OVER TO PARTS AND ORDER HER A LITTLE CARGO NET FOR HER TRUCK AND MAKE HER HAPPY. GEEZE, LADY. YOU'LL GET YOUR CARGO NET. GO TO PARTS."
    "Thank you sir." :)

CD's? Do they still make those? Seriously, that's clearly what the area behind the cargo net was designed for. However, I use a USB flash drive for my music collection - smaller than an iPod and doesn't require a cord.

Actually, the general trend away from CD's to alternatives like flash drives and the iPod may better explain why the cargo net isn't included anymore.

Note; By the way, don't get mad at me. I'm older than you, so was just joking about CD's still being made or used.

I hang my garage door opener on it since reg cabs aint gots no overhead console for it like in the 05 AC and I duzzent has a homelink mirror either. The ELM OBDII bluetooth thing for my torque app stays put behind there with a coupla other gadgets. The 05 came with the net, just no cabin air filter in the box for it. The 08 came with the net and a cabin air filter. Go figure..........

No, the trend might better explain the downfall of modern society. ;) But seriously, I LOVE the tangiblilty of CDs/liner notes...meh, I guess I better catch up at some point though!

EDIT: Oh and, yeah, that probably does have something to do with the lack of the net in current years...

too funny, i noticed the 4 little hooks in the console when i bought the truck and i asked the dealer what that was.....im a geek about this shit and i knew something went on them hooks. The sales guy had to go find out since he didn't know either, then when he told me it was a 7 dollar net Toyota didn't include, he immediately took pause and said "thats fucking stupid, let me order that for you and ill throw it in"

now that i have it, it really served zero purpose, i cant find a thing it can hold that i would keep in the console.....maybe a bagel for later

I have my folded up microfibre cloth in there. So I can dust off the dash cluster. :)

Oh, so that's the explanation. And to think I've been distracted all this time by other things when the problem is so simple and obvious.
