This is my friend's truck. Just finished building and tuning this turbo kit.
Full boost at 2750 RPMs. Hands down out performs the TRD s/c, as far HP and TQ output.

    First mock-up.

The cool thing, is that he is working very hard to developed kits specifically for 2nd gen Tacomas. This kit will fit both XRs and PreRunners. The tubing would be slightly different for the 4x4, since the front driveshaft. Once they nail down the EMS they really want to use, they should be making them more regularly. :D

Quoted from the fabricator," SC-61 Garret. .63ar exhaust .70ar intake 61mm wheel. Its a little small but it gives you INSTANT boost at any rpm when u floor it."

I'm afraid this is alll BS. We all know that the 4.0 cannot produce any power increases with a hot air intake :p:p:p

I do like that TQ curve though. Wonder if I could do that NA?? :D

perhaps a bit small but as long as it matches the engine well who cares.

an efr would be the best imo but they're pricey and hard to come by. at least this one is wastegated and bb.

Nice. If I'm seeing this right, is the maf sensor on the 3rd piece of tubing from the air filter? It seems a bit close to the filter, is it giving any problems with tuning or drivabilty?

I'm not knocking his set up, don't get me wrong, I probably would have relocated the battery and placed the filter enclosed in the location the battery is at now. Then again if he's not having any issues with the maf reading smooth airflow, job well done. Nice welds and looks clean. Good job on choosing a turbo that isn't too large.

I will let Sik X comment on the specifics of his particular intake design.

I can say however that he wanted to do something different than mine, and Toon's. Our are now both "blow through" MAFs. Being that our MAF from the factory setup, is a "pull through", he wanted to keep that as such.

For one reason, being that there won't be any pressure on the MAF like his is. Decreases the chances of a problem due to the pressure.

Thanks for the complements. I didn't want to relocate anything cause that will make it more difficult for the average person to install. (if they wanted to install it themselves). These kit will be available after we get the tuning completely figured out, (map ecu 3 doesn't work very well on tacomas, im trying aem next). So far we know Pro EFI works, (ask Torspd) but we are an AEM dealer so i want to try that. These kit are avialable for in house installs only for right now.

The maf sensor works so well in that location i drove it for 2 weeks without a tune(staying in vacuum of course) and the truck ran perfectly with no check engine light. As long as there is about 6 inches of strait pipe in front of the sensor youll be ok. This kit requires no cutting of anything, direct bolt on, you will just need to bend a few ac lines and moves some wires around.

We are still working on pricing, approximately 6k without any fuel components or management.

Thanks Torspd for showing it off for me, I dont get online too often.

and this is my first post.lol
