I was considering getting this HU for my 2008 Tacoma. The Crutchfield site says that it will fit but "Fold-down face receivers will not fit your vehicle..." Have any members out there with this unit have any problems with loading dvds/cds? I have seen other members have the AVH-P4300DVD and it appears that there isn't a problem with loading discs. Appreciate any help with this...

I had to adjust it to not hang up on the dash kit by tilting it 1/4". All the adjustment was in the mounting bolts. Super easy, really just more of a check before you reassemble everything.

Think it depends on the faceplate being used also, I didn't have to adjust anything using the Schosche faceplate for my 4300.

    Thanks for the input.

Dave M & Casey05Taco- Which dash kits are you using? Metra or Scosche?

Are any of you using the stock brackets? As I understand it the Metra doesn't come w/brackets??

Sorry to sound like a 5 year-old with a barrage of questions but if I can avoid the same hurdles that others have had it would make my install much more smooth.

I've got the Metra kit and I just reused the stock metal brackets. Worked like a charm.

I bought the Kenwood DDX419 and hate the way it fits in the scosche kit. From the few pictures I have seen the 4300/4400 fits way better. Any of you guys have pictures?

I have the AVH-P4400BH and I never had to "adjust" anything to keep it from hanging up. However, I used the Scosche Kit and I found out that the mounting brackets do not stay on unless you super glue them, that worked awesome.

I'm trying to attach my AVH-4400BH to a Scosche kit, but the 8 bolts that attach the mounting brackets to the HU do not fit. Neither the HU or Dash kit came with bolts so I tried to use the ones that were on the stock radio, but they are too big. Should I have received some bolts with the HU? If anyone received some and could post a picture, it would be a big help when I make a run to the hardware store. THX

I used the stock metal brackets, the dimples in the brackets should fit into the recesses on the sides of the unit. I'll try to snap some pics tonight if you want.

Yep, you should have some in the box. There were only six though.

I actually called Pioneer, where they tried to explain to me that it didn't need to be bolted to any brackets because is slipped into a cage. After some convincing he agreed that this wasn't the case for Toyota and suggested I pick some bolts up at the hareware store, which I was happy to do.

It's all hooked up and I can't believe the sound. I've never had an aftermarket system and am amazed.
