yup rust is biggest thing. 85s were first year for em, sfa and fuel injected. 86 they moved to ifs. in 88 they started offering the 5vz engine, aka the 3.sl0w.

Yes, much cheaper but only "after it's built".

After a locker and winch I'm done on mine besides small stuff here and there.

Buy one built after someone else is tired of spending money on it. Tweak to suit your tastes.

I agree. I have seen some nicely built rigs sell dirt cheap.

    Famous last words.

On a completely different note, pinch weld mod was super easy. Hardest part was taking the tire off. Now if only my axle relocation plate would come early and I had some fender screws...
Should be good enough for now for getting them mounted though. Scheduled for Sunday :woot:

Smash. Just used a utility knife with a fresh blade and it sliced right through the plastic. Then use a big wrench to bend it a little in the right direction. And finally hammer away with a 3lb sledge.

Roughly following what they did on expeditions west but I didn't bother with a dremel at all:

I had to cut mine, re-weld the seam and smash it back. Still rubs. Good luck.

You also have 285's. We shall see. If it rubs it will get cut/smashed.

Very true. If you need those screws and washers, I have enough to hook up your truck. All stainless.
