Can't use my truck as a comparison. I have SUA.

IIRC the stock bumps on the second gens are attached to the top of the leaf pack facing upwards and bump the frame at full compression. :notsure:

Ahhhh. So is there any benefit to having the bumps attached to the frame as opposed to attached to the leaf pack?

All depends on where your shocks bottom out I presume.

Jason I dot think those will work but thanks for trying, ill just take it easy this trip and hope the shock doesn't implode.

Again I won't swear to my previous comment. I'm sure you can go out and look at your truck to verify, I'm trying to think back on the lifts I've helped out with and I seem to remember the bumps being there, but fuck if I can remember. Too many beers ago.

There's no difference in where they mount. But since my leaf pack is below my axle, there's no easy spot for bumps to mount to the axle. Hense...the bumps are inverted and mounted to the frame and bounce off the axle instead of the other way around. More than 1 way to skin a cat.

Get me a picture of what/where you need the bumps Jake. I have a box-o-shit at home I can go through. I know I have some stock bumps in there too.

For my current bumps I drilled out the hole and was able to run inverted bumps real easy.

Ahhh gotcha. was just wondering why the difference, just now noticed that's off a first gen. I guess second gens are different, and I feel like the 2nd gen bump stops are a bit bigger as well...

Again, my truck is not one to compare cause there's nothing stock left on my suspension. Stock ones are a lot bigger on the first gens too. But with the SUA I have a shit ton of uptravel and larger bumps just restrict the uptravel. I have my bumps set so that are about 1/4" from my shocks bottomming out.

So heres basically my dilema in a nutshell: The previous owner for whatever reason didn't have bumps on here when I purchased the truck. That's why I had to order some from wheelers to keep my precious new shocks safe

If you have anything that can just screw on to the center pin, that'd be ideal jason, but i think its unlikley there is a bump out there like that. If I get stock bumps from someone I should probably put them on now instead of having to fuck with all of this out in the sand.

Here's a quick picture: Normally the stock bump is held on by the centering pin and has two legs which extend out and are held on underneath the Ubolts.

    Ah ha!!! I remember now.
The second gens have a bump that has a hole in the bottom of it that fits over the centering pin and is held in place with the u-bolt clamps.

    Similar to this:
    http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/Daystar-Bump-Stop-w-Slotted-Mounting-Plate-p-26472.html

Did you (or previous owner) change out your leaf pack or just put in a AAL? That centering pin is long! You'll have to cut off the excess threads. Lemme PM a couple peeps to see if they have the stock bumps.

We put the wheelers 3 leaf AAL in. The center pins were super long and that picture is half of it already cut off. Just got to cut off the rest when he gets bumps.
