    Most of tha money is for getting ur 3rd members out! If u take them out urself and take them to a shop it will cost less

    hmmm, so if i pull out the front and rear diff, take them to the shop to have the gears done, and take the re-geared 3rd members back, it will be a lot cheaper?

    yes, all they need is the front diff, which is the hardest, and the rear third member for a regear/rebuild kit.

    To pull the rear, take of wheel, and brake drum cover, then you simply undo the ebrake, the clip and bolt. then take off the break line,, if you have rubber lines use vice grips and a plug, if you upgraded to steel use a plug quick. The lines you could squeeze, the rubber are a little further up as they go up from the axle to the frame rails, on the axle are solid, DO NOT PINCH THESE. once the solid brake lines are off, undo the 4 bolts on the hub, and pull the axle all the way out. do not rest on inner seal, the seal is NOT reusable as per the fsm. but honestly, some have gotten away with it. nows a perfect time to do wheel bearings, as well as a break job if you need either. then simply undo the driveshaft, pull all the little bolts holding on the third member and boom there you go. pretty sure the factory locker is on the clam shell not on the third member, but i could be wrong as its been a while.



    For the front, id recommend pulling the cv's, that means the tie rod ends need to come off, which means starting by taking off the wheels. as well as the lower ball joint, the four bolts holding the bastard on. make sure to use loctite when you put them back on, and torque to i think its 96ft/lbs as per the fsm. have some coat hanger or zipties to hold spindle up out of the way.

    Anyways, once the cv's are out, this is hard, use a big crowbar and a bfh to pry them out. spin and bang, spin and bang, sping and bang. and they should pup out, take off the front driveshaft, and i do believe thats it. then simply undo the bolts holding it in, and wiggle the bastard out. if you are running a first gen, its a good time for a diff drop if you have a lift, if you are running a second gen, then ignore the diff drop and go about your business.

    got my gears and locker yesterday!! WOOOOOOO!!! and they both come with very detailed install instructions! Actually doesnt look nearly as hard as i originally thought! Powertrax locker looks very easy and gears looks like a little patience and it shouldnt be too hard . . . .
