Yep, thank God Associated stopped using them a few years back, the little captive button-head screws are way easier to deal with. Medical grade hemostats was the best way to mount them for me when dealing with them. I've poked holes in my fingers too many times tring to push them on with a small flat bladed screwdriver.

The guy at the hobby shop felt bad. He sold me the wrong lock outs, so he gave me 3 bags for free.

Well not for free the part was two dollars less. So I guess I got 3 bags for 2 dollars. Lol
    Thanks for the find!!!

I am in a cross rode in my build.
    1) put the stock running gear together for the kit.
    Or
    2) take the running gear from my wraith (45t Holmes motor) and put it in the kit
    Or
    3) build the tranny from the kit and put the 20t stock motor from the wraith in the kit.
    Or
    4) or build the kit tranny and wait for the 35t Holmes motor.

I freaking love building kits. I'm so anal about it, every single part gets inspected, all flashing removed by either a Xcato or Dremel, test fit then assembled. I remember a buddy bragging that "I built my new truck kit in four hours", I replied, "I spent longer than that on my shocks".

    I think I may start on a kit when I can afford one . . .

Something ridiculously cool . . . Not an EXO, though..

    Hmmm.

Right now these are what I'm thinking for another kit (by brand):

    Associated-

    SC8
    SC8e
    RC8T Factory Team
    GT2

    Axial-

Wraith/Wroncho (not sure if I want to get into crawling.)

    HPI-

    Savage XS SS

    Losi-

8IGHT (not sure if nitro or electric)
    22T

Haven't really looked at anything else.
