    She's gone but not forgotten.
My grandfather owned an auto repair shop out in Kansas years ago. Every time we'd go visit them I'd hang around him. He used to take the condensers out of old distributors and charge them up, then yell "hey Johnny catch!" and toss it to me. I'd catch it and it would zap the pee out of me. I hate getting shocked! And I've been hit (indirectly) by lightning twice!

    She's gone but not forgotten.
First time I was living in Lawrence Kansas. My mother and aunt were sitting at the kitchen table talking, I was sitting on the edge of the counter in front of the sink. Lightning hit the house or somewhere very close-by and traveled though the house pipes. Got me right in the ass. Threw me across the kitchen. I shook for days after that.

Second time was in Colorado Springs CO. My friend was over and we were putting driving lamps on his front bumper of his car. It took to storming real hard. My father had his car in the garage, so we put it in neutral and pushed it as far up in the garage as we could. Put the front end of my friends car in behind it. I was laying under it, lightning hit somewhere close (it took out our TV, the phones, and the microwave). I remember seeing the blue sparks jumping to my fingers.

The third time it didn't really get me. We were at the base swimming pool on Richards Gebaur AFB in Belton Missouri. It started storming so they made everyone get out of the pool. Everybody waited until the storm let up and started walking to the parking lot. All of a sudden there was this huge BANG. A kid not 50 feet from me got nailed. I don't think I got shocked but I do remember my ears ringing for a while.
