Screws in Bed Side

Hey Everyone,

I want to add some light duty tie-downs onto the side of the composite bed. What are the best type of screws to go into the plastic?

IMO I would not use screws. I would drill it out, use wide washers or something else behind the bed to displace the weight, and then use small bolts.

Once you crack the bed it's fubar.

 

I would use bolts with some big fender washers behind them, you want to spread the load out as much as possible.

Screws won't last very long and will eventually pull out.

 

Buy some actual bolts with nuts and washers to alleviate any chance of them just pulling out... Just my thoughts.

And BTW the bed is a composite not platstic
