Took care of the pinch weld mod tonight.



And I took off the brackets that go around the spare tire. Most people either bend the ends or cut them off to fit a bigger tire. I figured why not just take them off completely and let the tire tuck up another 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The spare only wiggles a little bit without the brackets there, shouldn't be a problem. In this pic one of the brackets is removed.

 

The new spare actually fits bro? I just throw mine in the bed for the time being

 

Tires aren't mounted yet but it should. I'll probably throw it in the bed while wheeling though so I don't scrape it.

I'll probably leave it. I scraped the stock spare at Wharton but that tire is a 265 vs 255 for the new one and I took those brackets off so the new spare should be a good inch higher.

I saw no security signs

It was that spot in the pit where me and Boyd scraped our bumpers. Just barely rubbed the tire and the bumper under the license plate.

No spare under the truck since the last fall BC meet.

 

You just don't like having to get it out from under the truck.

No problem, not sure how long we can run that thing off inverters anyway. And I'm not in a rush to get them siped with winter being over.

 

Tires are on! 255/85R16 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2's.









Didn't get it fully stuffed yet but it did touch in the front at this point. Axle relocation plate will be here tomorrow, hopefully I'll get that on this week. That will shift the axle back 3/4".



The spare does just barely fit underneath. I'll be putting it in the bed of the truck for wheeling trips though so I doesn't get scraped up on rocks and one less thing to deal with if I have to change a flat on the trail.
