    Yes. The article I read was saying that the amount you pay in taxes, is equal to the 59 bucks per visit. So......we pay (on average) 1 American dollar more.

    It costs about the same, just you already pay it in taxes. And FWIW, the last time I broke a bone (we all remember the Packer fan truck incodent), I walked out of the ER fixed up, and they gave ME $22.75. All in less than 2 hours. AAnd that included a drunk midget running thru the ER screaming....
