Don't laugh - Center Console Mod

After looking at the price of the center console safes and not wanting to drop that kind of dough on one, I decided to try and find a way to conceal my Glock and feel safe to leave it in the truck. After completion I offered a buddy $25 to see if he could find it. He got mad after about 15 minutes of looking and thought I was playing a joke until I showed him.

    So here goes...

All I needed was some 1/4 inch foam, 1-1/2 foam, scissors, a sharpie, a razor knife, and some glue.

Here is the center console straight from the factory.

With all my crap thrown in.

Now here is the center console with my mod.

Once again with all my crap thrown in.

And under the plastic board is the hidden compartment.

I just traced the bottom onto the foam, traced my gun on the 1-1/2 foam and then glued the ¼ to the bottom. Installed the foam into the bottom of the console and the factory plastic board bottom fits once again perfect. Not for a quick draw but I now have my gun with me all the time. Actually it is very easy to get to as you can just push on one end of the plastic board bottom and the other end comes up.
    Total cost about 4 bucks!
