Hey you guys, I got a question, I wanted to get a DC because I don't like having to open the front door to get to the back and I wanted to haul some people in the back but the money I could save with an AC is appealing.
I guess like would I be able to do the same things with an AC as a DC and haul the same stuff, I mean obviously not because one would be a short bed and the other would be a regular bed, but still! What's the main problems besides the rear seat and entry to it that I would have?
I've only really looked at and driven DC's but idk...help me out a bit more!
    Thanks!

    Price reference:
    DC TRD Sport (non-JBL) SB = $27,500
    AC TRD Sport (non-JBL) RB = $26,638

    Yes! Another poll! ;)

Personally I got the access cab because I was already getting a smaller pickup, and I wanted to have at least SOME substantial bed space. Its nice because I can easily load it with the suicide doors and people can sit back there if need be. You are sacrificing a lot of passenger space with it. All in all its a personal choice! I's say figure out exactly what you want and run with it

i've always been weird about modifying a vehicle directly off the lot...

ive modified my truck to no end...but i drove it stock for awhile so i could see what exactly i wanted upgraded and how i wanted to go about said upgrades

if it were me personally...i'd pick out the truck i want...and run with it...once you've enjoyed the "newness" start upgrading parts that need upgrading

Haha, thank you! I was test driving an MGM and Timberland Mica Sport and Off Road DC and then saw a SW Sport DC sitting there and got a fat bonor for it right away...not to mention I fell in love with it right away too. :p I was ready to trade them right then and there but absolutely did not want to deal with the jerks at that dealership...I didn't have the 3 sold yet either. Sweet truck too!

Tiger, I bet you're right, I think I'd wind up just selling it to buy a DC if I bought an AC. Boy oh boy that would be interesting...

On an 05-08, an Access Cab. On an 09, a double cab short bed.

 Well on the 2009 models, the AC isn't as functional as the 05-08 models.

Ya. Get what you want. You don't want to feel like you had to settle for anything or regret it and ask what if the whole time. When I bought mine I went in open minded. 4x4, I4 and manual were my only constraints (and no reg cab). I personally knew I would be happy with whatever I ended up getting. Its how i shop for clothes, If I like two things I just pick one and I will have forgotten about the other item very shortly. I wasnt a huge fan of the super white but I couldnt turn down the deal. And i have grown to LOVE it! However with other things, my guitars, pets, etc I have a vision of the perfect one and I hate settling for anything less so I know exactly how you feel about the truck!

Well in the 2008 models, while not as comfortable as the 2009 models, the seats fold flat, allowing you to put a variety of different things back there.

The 2009 models don't offer the folding seats, limiting the types of things you can put back there. And it looks kind of awkward with the head rests folded down (no headrests in 08 models).

Sounds like a Toyota commercial.
Great advice! Thanks! My dream truck would be 09 DC SB TRD Sport 4x4 but I don't need the 4x4 and would be perfectly fine with a 4x2 so I'm going 4x2.
But DC SB Sport is definitely what I should get.

As long as I can fit a few mountain bikes in that short bed...
