N-Fab 2" or 3"

I'm debating if I should get the N-Fab Step Bar with either the 2" or 3" main tube. I've seen plenty of 2" N-Fab steps, but not the 3". Pictures of the 3" on a Taco would help (I've seen the ones on the N-Fab website, but they aren't big enough to see detail). Personally the 2" has too much of a gap between the body and the step, but I'm also concerned that the 3" may look too bulky for the truck. What do you guys think?

I could be wrong but I don't think they make the 3" for the double cab anymore.

I think I'll be going with the three. I was doing a bit of research and don't bash me if I'm wrong, but is N-Fab and Smittybilt the same company? I found this on the Smittybilt website regarding their step bars. The second bullet say's "N-Fab"???

 

just wondering if these are really worth it? my wife is 5ft (on a good day)
and she drives our 2010 DBL cab with OME 886, Dakar leafs and 285's 3 days a week. She doesn't complain about it but I was just thinking about these.

 

are you talking about the predator step sides?

I just had the same dilemma, 2" or 3". I just bought 3" nfabs from 4wheelparts.com and love them. I just prefer the looks of the 3" compared to the 2" I thought the 2" just looked a little bit small on the TRD Off-road, personal preferance. They aren't to bulky at all, and look great. They were NFab 3" wheel to wheel. $412 delivered to the door.

 

I searched for the 3" but ended up settling on the 2" - I didn't like the gap I noticed on 2" ones I've seen in certain angles in pics (gap between the bar and rocker)

I don't think they are the same company. I think N-Fab just makes their stuff and they throw their logo on it. Similar to how Cabelas Trail Gear 2 digital cut floor mats are actually Weathertech's with a sticker over the weathertech logo.

 

I actually called Smittybilt and they told me they have a service contract with N-Fab where they manufacture the steps and Smittybilt sells it. Apparently Smittybilt does this for a lot of their products. Called N-Fab to verify and they said the same thing. N-Fab use the same materials and Smittybilt sells it for a cheaper price.

 

I have the 3" and couldn't be happier. They tuck in real nice. I might have a pic or 2 in my gallery.

 

for all you guys with a truck that is not black, search here for "painted pinch welds" it will disguise that gap nicley

i dont have steps but i think makeing that pinch weld black makes the truck look much better

 

Went with the 2" N-Fab and I'm very happy with them. Got them off Amazon.com for $330. They were advertised as Smittybilts, but were in fact N-Fab. Here's a few pictures. Only took an 1 to install by myself.

 

I have a truck ordered and will be here in a few days. I too need a good closeup of the 3" from a few different angles.
