I'm assuming that's a state law because they did my headlights and I know of others as well. I'm hoping that'll keep them from going hazy as quick. I realize that even this stuff will eventually get pocks and scratches over the long haul, but I think it'll be way better than the bare light because it has more surface give.

The only thing they didn't want to do around here was the chrome grill. I asked why and was told that it just doesn't look right on chrome. I guess that makes sense because of the high reflectivity behind the film. He said he'd do it if I wanted him to and, after hearing his explanation, I decided it'd be better to just replace the grill if it gets that bad rather than having someything that looked goofy.

I believe I saw the option listed by Toyota to have the paint protection installed, and opted out because it only covered the top and not the lower portions like you stated.

I have had my 11' front end wrapped with 3M film. The following was done:

    Partial Hood, and Fender
Mirror, Bumper (not the top portion), Grill, Door cups, Headlights and Fog lights

I had 3M on my previous car and it is definitely worth the cost. Keeps the front end looking brand new!

My company is the supplier for the Toyota program. The factory only installs hood, and fenders. Then we offer a Toyota dealer install program that will allow you to get the bumper done. All covered by a Toyota warranty.

If your interested in our product go to your local dealer and ask for it. Or you can pm me with any of your questions and i will help you take care of anything involving 3M paint protection.

So quick update. When the dealer sold me the product, they have a pamphlet that they go over. Right in there it states, "Our standard installation on the ldeading edge of your vehicle includes the front of the hood, wheel arches, front bumper as well as the painted surfaces surrounding the grill and mirrors. Headlight, foglight and rear bumper kits are also optionally available."

I pointed this out to the dealer and they are going to "get it taken care of today."

Hopefully this means that the front painted surfaces really will be covered. I will let you know how it turns out.

The dealer used a third party, so I can't exactly blame them for the following BULLSHIT! Yes, that's a hack-job and yes those are razor marks in my paint and black grill surround. The salesman has to talk to the head manager who will be there on Tuesday.

Yikes! It looks like whoever did it was in a hurry or didn't know what the hell they were doing. Either that or he was pissy about having to finish what he should have done the first time. I shake like a hound dog shittin' peach seeds and that's why I had someone else put this on--so mine wouldn't end up like this. I hope they do right and give you a good resolution on this deal.

Yeah, thanks Bob. I'm super frustrated right now. The razor marks just really chap my ass.

    Gee Jonathan.
    That's not good.
Definitely need to get that off the truck and get the paint taken care of.
Then get someone else to install it again. Our sub does a real good job and I've never seen anything close to this mess.
    Good luck

Thanks man...I appreciate the sentiment. I've expressed this to the dealer and he agrees that this is poor workmanship. Hopefully we'll get it taken care of this week. We will see.

I have had a clear bra on my last four vehicles and I swear by the product. Most films are 8MM thick and do a very good job of protecting the front end. The Tacoma Clear Bra comes in two packages - The upper package covers the hood, hedlight shrouds and exposed fenders; - The lower package covers the front (leading edge) of the bumper. If you talk to the applicator, he/she will usually throw in the front posts as a courtesy. However, if you have it done through your Toyota dealer, you may not get a chance to talk to the applicator and you will get only what the dealer is willing to pay for.

I am looking for a retailer/applicator in West Tennessee myself.
