    Truck died tonight, driving along the freeway and started slowing down.

    Gave it gas, nothing. Put it in neutral, nothing.

    Cruised in neutral and got off the next exit and pulled over. Tried cranking the engine and it cranks, but doesnt start. All the lights work.

    Called Anthony250 and he came and towed me to the closest gas station. We spent a good hour pulling and checking every single fuse.

    Checked all the fluids. Coolant is good, oil is good, nothing is leaking.

    Looked at my gauges and they all work. Gas shows 1/8th tank full. Re-check all the fuses, all good.

    Tried jump starting it, nada.

    Jen came and helped out, suggested we put gas in it. I argue that gauge shows 1/8th tank full, but what the hell, could be the cheapest fix.

    Put 1 gallon in, truck starts.

    Fuck my life

    it might be your fuel sender unit, my buddy had that problem and ran out of gas all the time if he didn't guess how many miles hes gone, gas gauge would read that there was a quarter tank left but there was no gas

    Yup. Which is to the right of the flux capacitor, and above the ported stainless steel brake lines. ;)

    Speaking of the fuel gauge. I recently learned that if the speedometer sensor is unplugged, or malfunctioning, your gas needle will fluctuate with the movement of the gas in the tank. Not saying that is your problem, but it definitely made it hard to tell how much fuel was left in the tank.
