He was a douche but he had a cannon for an arm! Thanks! I heard they put on a good show but I am not a big fan, though they are named after my home town so I can't complain.

So let's look at just a couple of examples of reality vs the common fiction from last year. Strength of schedule:

    Boise State - 31st

Alabama - 35th (and ranked ahead of BSU the entire year w/ same win count)

Stanford - 95th (and leap-frogged Boise during the season w/ same win count)

I'm not naive, I understand full well that college football has nothing to do with football--it's about $$$$$. So I'll let you go ahead and pretend that some of the teams that played in BCS games the last two seasons actually deserved to be there more than Boise State. As for me, I'll just sit back and bide my time because the cracks in the horseshot BCS system are getting wider...

    Yep, it's BRONCO BLUE!!!

Dude where did you come up with those numbers?!

Like really, ya'll beat a single (1) ranked team last year.

    I mean damn.

Yeah... Where did those numbers come from?

I look at their 2011 schedule and I see Georgia and a bunch of clowns. Only one team (Georgia) ended up in the top 25.

ESPN. That was their opinion last year and that's good enough for me. I realize that SOS is highly subjective, but it's also one of the factors that's voters use in the highly subjective crappy BCS system so there it is.

So it's our fault that Georgia was the only ranked team that had the sack to play Boise State? 6-0 vs AQ teams (those who weren't afraid to play us) over the past four years. So by your logic, W Va, Michigan and Va Tech didn't belong in a BCS game either because they only beat one ranked team during the season. And yet there they were.

So you think Saban is/was afraid to play ya'll?

And remember, the grass is greener on the other side. :boink:

Bobbb you make the worst argument of all time man. How could you even consider Boise states schedule to even be in the top 25 in SOS? Ha.

Also it is y'alls fault. Y'all could have chosen harder non conference teams cause I'm pretty sure no one in the SEC and even some teams in the pac12 big10 and big12 wouldnt be "afraid" to play y'all.

With that being said, alabama would eat y'all lunch, come back for seconds, and then throw it in kellen moores face.

Yes. And it isn't just him. Much easier to just dismiss Boise as unworthy of being played rather than ending up as the OU Sooners following the '07 Fiesta Bowl. Or Oregon. Or Va Tech. Or Georgia.

Umm... When was it that I said their SOS was in the top 25? And no, Boise State can't just 'choose' harder non-conference teams to play. Far too many won't play us either because of what I said above, or because it doesn't fit with their revenue plan. IIRC, it was Ohio St that so graciously offered to play us a few years ago, but only if we played them in their house with no return game in ours. Nope. Screw 'em, we don't need their 'charity'.

It's all good though. Boise State is a relatively young school (became a university in 1974), but we have a long tradition of winning football games. In fact, we're the only school in history that's won a Junior College Championship, a Division 1-AA Championship and a BCS game--twice BTW. We're in no hurry. Y'all go ahead and watch while the uber-flawed BCS system crumbles around you and we'll just sit back and wait because our (all so-called mid-majors) time's coming! :D

I won't ever get my point across and internet debates are as useful as poopie flavored lollipops so i'll leave with these few points:

    1. Boise State will never be considered a top tier school UNTIL they join a top notch conference.

    2. I hope ya'll beat the living crap out of Ole Piss in 2014...

    3. God Speed next year- Especially without Kellen Moore.

They're doing what they can to move up! It ain't like they can just say "Okay, we're going to the PAC 38 (or whatever) now"--they gots to be invited. Personally, I'm not thrilled about them going to the Big East, but it is what it is. They're not locked into anything and can back out if they so choose. There was talk on the local news a few nights ago about just that possibility if they don't like how the BE is shaping up.

Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see who's chucking the spud next season. Kellen's a tough act to follow, but I have enormous faith in Chris Petersen. The guy's 73-6 and the winningest active coach in CFB. Plus KM had two decent backups who, thanks to Boise not trailing once at halftime over the last four years, got to see a fair amount of playing time.

This thread has me Jonesing for football now. I even re-watched the pounding of AZ State in the Vegas bowl off the DVR again last night. Must..go..back..to..forgetting..about..football or I won't get anything done! :D

Looks like at least one person from up north has the passion us in the south have.

April 14th for the spring game. Who's going? I plan to be there.

I think Richt will get there by the seat of his pants. If Muschamp is any decent of a coach, they have had good recruiting the past few years and have the talent in the swamp. I think Ark has a chance to make a statement if they can manage to beat LSU and Bama. I think the west is just gonna beat up on each other and not provide a team healthy or strong enough to win the sec or a national title. UGA has some talent and a weak schedule, I would be surprised if they aren't undefeated going into the sec championship.

Too many unknowns right now. Don't know how good a running game we'll have. (that hurt us bad last year imo) And not sure about our secondary. And I really hope the special teams play can improve A LOT! I hope you're right, but I'm not going that far. I do think we should have a very good chance at being in the SECCG again. But we can't seem to win the big games. Until they prove to me we can then I'm just not sure about my Dawgs. Richt is a good coach, but if we don't start winning the big games SOON, we'll be looking for a new coach imo.

I think between your QB and receivers you have a shot of going far. You are right though, too many unknowns at the moment. I just think the west is too stacked for it's own good. And as long as UGA doesn't take Mullen away I am happy with whoever they bribe.
